LIFETIME Fold-in-Half Adjustable Folding Table, 4 Foot

I love this table . It’s perfect for a small cutting table in my sewing room because the height is adjustable . At its tallest I don’t have to bend over to cut out patterns. Plus super easy to fold away and needs minimal storage space!!!

I like this table a lot, so much that I now own 3 of them. I would recommend this product, even though it is imperfect. Pros: Great size and value. This table’s size makes it very versatile. I like that there are 3 adjustable heights, so I have used it for both kid and adult events. It is very easy to set up and take down. It is not very heavy, which is nice when lugging it out of storage for parties and putting them away again. It is also a very reasonable price for what it is. Cons: it is not the sturdiest of tables. It hasn’t ever tipped over on my watch, but it just don’t have the sturdy feel that comes with a heavier, more heavy-duty table. The lock on the bottom doesn’t fully lock/stabilize the table, so it still can fold a few inches as you turn it over to get it upright. The plastic corners ding fairly easily. The third one I ordered arrived damaged; Amazon replaced it quickly and painlessly (good customer service), but watch those corners whenever moving it around.

I needed a simple table or desk to create a home office/computer desk/workspace. I am so glad I found and chose this table, as it was much less expensive than any of the items labeled as desks or other tables, and it is ideal for me: it is adjustable, height-wise, which is great, as I have very short legs. I have it on the lowest setting and, combined with the office chair I just ordered and assembled that also can be adjusted quite low, it is the ideal height for a desk for me (most of the other tables and desks I scrutinized on line were too high for me). If you are taller, it can be adjusted. It has several height settings. It is a nice size and really is a "utility table", too: speaking of that office chair I ordered, I put it on this table to assemble it and that helped tremendously! One thing I will note is that the table top is not a pure white, it has very subtle black specks in it. Almost like the top of a cooler! And the material is similar to that too, it is a polyurethane and seems sort of between a hard plastic and a cooler top, if that makes any sense. I think it will be durable, but it just is a tad different from what I thought it would be, which was a very hard plastic. Anyway, I LOVE it, the price is fantastic, and everyone says it looks pretty snazzy as my little desk! (I put a cozy area rug under it, so the table and the office chair I ordered are on the rug...nice.)

Update: September 2017 Another great use for these tables: When painting or installing decorative shutters on the house these tables at their highest setting make a great temporary workbench to use outside for all of your needed tools. I found this lightweight table very handy for setting drills, screws, etc. when I installed plywood on my window before hurricane Irma hit Florida. I have a bad back so using the table reduced the need for me to bend down to pick up tools, etc. The tables are easy to move. I found it easy to pick one up (makeshift crossbar and all) and lift it over my head with the legs aiming to the sky then rest the table top on my head while I walked it to the place in my yard where I needed it. I'm no muscle man. I'm a 6 foot, overweight 64 year old but I could easily handle putting the table top on my head. (I know. Bad visual. That's why there is no picture of me doing this! LOL.) ORIGINAL POSTING: I'm reviewing Lifetime Table 4428 with the folding table top. Pros: This table has 4 features that are hard to find in one table: a folding table top, 36" height, small footprint for storage and a decent price. Good height as an outfeed table for my 7491RS table saw. Highest height 36" is perfect for projects where you want to stand. Folds up for storage. Carrying strap. Not too heavy for short distance carrying for a 62 yr. old male. This is a great table for a 'weekend woodworker' who needs to store everything away at the end of the project so his car will fit in the garage again! Cons: Only 24" wide. Surface has a slight texture but writing with a gel pen and paper are no problem. Not contractor quality nor durability but good for many home uses. Not for heavy items like engines. Not a sturdy workbench. Not easy to open for a weak/elderly person. Tricky to open and close but this technique should help: Pull it out of the box, stand it on end and place the hinge side on the floor. Use a large screwdriver to pry open the end opposite the hinge. Reason being the plastic clip holding it closed is very tight until it wears a little. Once opened, tip the table on its side edge and extend the table top and legs until they lock. Look for one red plastic clip under the table surface near the hinges. Press it to lock the table top open. Now stand the table on its legs. It will be real low. To raise the table you need 3 arms, 2 people or this trick: Put your foot on the cross bar that connects 2 legs to each other. Press in on the 2 silver pins that pop out of the side of the legs and at the same time push down with your foot while lifting with your hands. The table will rise one level. Do the same thing to the other end of the table. Repeat the process until you achieve the desired height. There are 3 ht. settings. ==================== Another con: The table wobbles side to side at the highest setting but I have a simple cure to make it sturdy: Buy a cheap 2x2 stick of lumber for a couple bucks. Actual dimensions: 1.5"x1.5"x4ft. Cut a notch in the center of each end of the stick to these dimensions: 1" deep by 1" wide. I used a scroll saw. With the table at its highest setting, pressure fit diagonally the notches between the 2 cross bars at ground level. Then slide/center the stick perpendicular to the cross bars. No screws or bolts needed. The stick will force the legs apart and reduce the wobbling. If you are unable to cut notches in the stick you might get by just using a 47" stick. We had a large family holiday and knew there would be upwards of 12 kids between the ages of 1.5-8. We needed something affordable, sturdy, short, and easy to store. We put two of these together, end-to-end at the lowest height and it was truly perfect. Paired with some excellent 10.5 inch stacking chairs - we had all we needed for the "kids table" at our family holiday. The kids first used it to work on holiday crafts, then we cleared it for the meal. The parents of all the little ones were thrilled at having a special, kid-sized space for them (particularly one that was out of the way and well clear of the main foot traffic). And the kids thought it was fun to have this long table for just them. When we were reviewing online items, we were initially worried about the depth of the table - thinking it wouldn't be wide enough to hold crafts or plates with kids on each side. We found that it worked beautifully. The kids used normal paper plates for their meals with no problems. A word of note, because the legs are at the waaaayyyy ends with the support bar close to the floor, we couldn't sit anyone at the end (other than a parent monitoring the activities). However, we fit three of the 10.5 inch stacking chairs on each long side (so, with two tables, we could comfortably seat 12 kids). After the event, we tore off the plastic table cloth (we taped it to the table) and folded up both tables in a matter of seconds. Seriously we were all wondering why we hadn't done this years ago when there were fewer kids! I would recommend these tables to anyone with small kids as an ad-hoc activity table or for grandparents to use during family events. I'm sure there are many other uses as well. Can't say enough good things about this table.

This table is awesome! And I don't say this lightly. I still can't believe how compact this thing is when it's collapsed and folded in half. When you pick this little guy up, you'll know immediately that this is NOT your Dad's old card table. It's built like a brick... ummm... table. The primary reason I got this table was its ability to extend its legs up to 36", which puts it at the perfect standing workbench height. I was a little worried that extending the legs out as far as they would go would make it unstable. I couldn't have been more wrong. We just put this little guy through the ringer during a Film Trailer we shot out in the Southern California desert. And this thing was as strong as could be, and it put up with a lot of abuse. During a rush setup or changeover, we must have banged into and knocked it over more times than we could count. But whenever we actually needed to use it to setup or adjust our camera rig (or any other task we had for it), this table performed like a champ. The legs aren't just cheap metal glued or even riveted to the tabletop. Not by a long-shot. No, these legs are nicely finished and coated steel, and they're securely attached to a heavy-duty frame system (made of the same finished and coated steal) that runs corner-to-corner INSIDE the tabletop. This thing is bomb-proof! ...or at least pretty darn close to bomb-proof. If you are just looking for a cheap, lightweight table that won't ever be subjected to any abuse, then this is probably NOT the table you want. HOWEVER, if you are hard on your gear and expect it to hold up to regular use (and abuse), then look no further; THIS IS THE TABLE YOU WANT. And if you need a table bigger than this 4-footer, I strongly suggest going with this Manufacturer. It'll be an investment that you'll feel good about for years to come.

I use this table with my semi-recumbent collapsible exercise bike so I can work and exercise at the same time (or watch TV and exercise, etc...). It is awesome! No assembly and took me 1 minute to adjust the legs to the fullest height and have it ready for use. High quality resin top that literally will last a lifetime. (And I love that it folds away just like my bike so I can get it out of the way when I have company. I'm using the table as I type this and the table top is not moving around at all. It does move about an inch from side to side if you hold it down and push it side to side - but doesn't feel like it's gonna fall over or anything at all. And it doesn't move when i type or pick up and set down my drink. So, the way it adjusts the height - each leg has 4 holes in it and you push the metal pin in, slide the leg up and the pin locks into the next hole. Push the pin in again and slide the leg more to get it into the next highest slot. The way I did the adjustment with one person (just myself) - is I held the table upside down in my lap, pushed the metal pin in on each leg on one side (cause you have to push them in at the same time) and then I ducked my head under the cross bar for that side of the table and pushed the legs out by pulling my head backwards. LOL. It was easy and works if you have no back or neck issues.

I have purchased other Lifetime tables and chairs, and I’ve always been pleased with the amazing quality. I needed a smaller table for desserts during the holidays. I ordered this table mostly for its size. I was thrilled to find it had adjustable heights and was the perfect size to use as a dessert table for my family. After the holidays, I found many uses for this table. It can be used as a child’s table at its shortest height. It does wobble at its tallest height. However, I used that height without any issues. It is easy to set up and easy to take down. Lightweight and portable. Wish I had purchased it years ago.

I like the table because it is height adjustable and sturdy. Very easy to use and also keep in storage. Space-saving when folded for storage. I use it for my camping trips.

This table is easy to open out (with hands in the right places) its heavier than I expected but it is easy to open up and lock the table legs in place, the corners on the legs lock in place nicely. The height is awkward to adjust as there's these little things to press in whilst pulling down the legs. Once up and in situ it looks quite good, but the table does wobble sideways as there is no supporting horizontal bar as some other tables have, this would have ensured it would have been super stable as the table isn't the most stable once the legs are all in place. One other buyer of this table has put some timber to spread the legs outwards to make it more stable (as a sort of support to make it more stable). I may be doing this to mine aswell, but having said all this I do really like this table for the purpose I have in mind for it, I plan to use this for computer use and soldering with a mat. I do recommend this table as it will suit most purposes as shown on the discription, its great value, and it's easy to take down and fold away, but whatever you do DON'T stand on the table as it's not designed to have a lot of weight on the centre of the table as it only locks on one side underneath. For normal uses it is really worth having. I really recommend this table with the above caution, for my use it will be definately suitable for me!! and maybe for you too, it's better quality than I expected. Ps if the designers had given this table a lock on both sides underneath it would be more stable than it is than with just one!!. Once I'd opened it up I thought one locking lever was missing as it does look like it could have been missing, this may be how it has been designed.
