We are happy with this cheese grater. We love that it is stainless steel and it finally shreds our cheese. It’s pretty durable and easy to clean. It’s small enough to fit in our drawer, which is nice. It leaves a slim slice of cheese, not grated.

This is a pathetic excuse for a cheese grater. It is a flimsy build. We bought it for grating hard parmesean cheese and it can't come close to doing the job. Well past disappointed on this purchase of this product. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Excellent quality

My quest for the perfect grater for Parm continues.My family and I go through a lot of Parmesan, so we go through a lot of graters. This one has a strong design, with the steel rod reinforcement of the handle. The blades are reasonably sharp, and cut well. I like the size of the shreds.The handle of the grater wheel is the weak aspect of this design. To eliminate metal-on-metal squeaking when you grind, the designers put in Teflon ring bearings on both sides of the grater wheel, where it sits in the handle.This reduces the squeaking, but the metal handle attaches to the grater wheel on the Teflon ring on the right side. This attachment is too weak, and gave away in the time between when I bought this and the time I am writing the review (less than a month, maybe 10 usages of the grater). I have tools that enabled me to fix this, but this is a critical design flaw.This fix may last a day, or maybe I'll never have to fix it again (and go easier on the squeezing pressure when grinding - perhaps I exceeded design specifications with my lust for Parm...).If anyone can design the perfect hand wheel style cheese grater, the world will beat a path to your door!

I had one that was plastic and after replacing it a couple of times due to breakage I wanted a metal one. This scraper's construction is sturdy enough. BUT, after you use it on a fresh piece of cheese it stops scraping well once it spins around a few times. It groves out the cheese, and creates bridges that stop the rest of the cheese to get scrapped.Also, I have a large, strong hand, and it is still hard to get good mechanical advantage with the scrapper. My children have a real hard time having to use both hands.

Had a plastic one for years, the handle cracked and I purchased another plastic one. Same problem, broke that one. Metal one! YES! Easy to use, can put it in the dishwasher, no more breakage!

This item worked great, it comes apart easily for cleaning but the handle broke after a couple of uses. The handle to turn the grater is just a friction fit. It's broke and I cannot fix it.

02/17/2025: We enjoy "hard cheeses" and this grater performs quite well.
