Our 8″ flat hoe will tackle your toughest jobs whether in the garden or on the trail. The head is 8″ wide by 5.25″ high and only sharpened on the bottom edge. The head is cut from the hardened steel of a flat no-till blade then glued and riveted to our 60″ heavy-duty fiberglass handle.

Good quality, just not very good for clearing grass
Feels good and rigid (it should for the price anyway).Reasonably sharp out of the box (I did also sharpen it with an angle grinder later).Only complaint is that I wanted a heavy hoe to clear some grass;this one is okay on the weight, okay on the sharpness, but the angle of the blade is quite awkward.I want the blade going toward myself touching the ground almost flat (with maybe 6~12 degree angle, not really flat as that won’t do much either),so I can cut the grass flat to ground and probably scrape a thin layer of dirt together. But the angle of this hoe is almost 90 degree to the handle,so the blade will hit hard into the soil. It's a nice garden hoe if I wanted to loosen or move a little soil..(if that was what I wanted I would prefer a deeper hoe then.. the ~4" depth on this hoe just wouldn't dig too much)Might consider getting the 8" "the boss" later and try that..For some reason I prefer heavier hoe as the weight helps a lot on cutting.Hate those very light weight thin garden hoe, they will just bounce back on everything. Those are maybe good for seniors to move loose material like mulch, light garden flower work..For farming type tools, I just prefer heavy, sharp and rigid. So this could be a very nice hoe for making rows during farming or similar jobs that tends to loosen and move a little soil; just not very good on clearing grass due to the angle of the blade.
