CATHES MORE THAN JUST BUTTERFLIES
the 34" extendable butterfly net is great - must admit that I don't catch butterflies with it - but I have caught random flies, bees, etc that make their way indoors and won't leave. I can catch them and release them back to nature so I am rid of the pests and still not feel mean :}Thank You

Very cheap. Bought as part of a Halloween costume. Broke just from extending the handle.

Pesticide-Free Insect Control
I'm that person that doesn't like killing anything, NOR do I like spraying poisonous pesticides around myself, pets or child. If I see bugs in my home, I scoop them up with this net and escort them outside. My house is pretty secure so I have few bugs, and this works perfectly. I've taught my son since he was born to respect nature, even telling the bugs 'Bye bye' when we've taken them outside. The only drawback for this use is that the net is round. I may look for a square one so it's easier to put down in corners.

Broke day 1
This is not 8 year old boy durable. My son is not abusove, but very spirited in his play. He immediately went out to pursue his bug exploration and within an hour it had broke at the handle. I watched as he was just swooping at the air, with more gusto than this thing apparently was rated for, and it snapped off the handle. He is still trying to use it but it isn't whole.

Great choice for small birds in flight cages
I purchased this to catch finches in my flight cages, and also to catch any that occasionally escape into the house. It looks perfect. I haven't tried it except to extend the handle and look it over, and I'm very satisfied with the quality.

A joke - much too small
The diameter of the opening is far too small. Good luck catching anything with these.
