Though Dave Parvin now resides in the Denver area, he is no stranger to the Northwest. Part of his childhood was spent in Sunnyside, Anacortes, and Seattle where he graduated from Seattle University. Though he was carving in wood before his third birthday, the road to being a sculptor had detours to study for the priesthood, earn a degree in natural science, fly helicopters for the Marine Corp in Viet Nam, remain married for thirty years and raise a son to manhood. Essentially self-taught, Dave is a realistic sculptor whose primary subject is the human form. He strives to bring life to his work by carefully defining the underlying muscular and skeletal systems.
