Very happy with the ECOS lavender laundry detergent and surprised at how long it has lasted. I purchased it three weeks ago and have used the recommended dosage with each wash, despite it not seeming enough as I'm so used to pouring loads of detergent and conditioner in, and still have over a 1/4 of the carton left.No complaints regarding cleaning power either. Due to our lifestyle our clothes are often caked in mud and have found that not to be a problem. If a item is particularly heavily soiled I rinse it under the tap and rub a bit of washing up liquid in but I would do this with my previous detergents too.The scent is subtle which makes you think it is not clean but I suspect this is just because I'm so used to all those big brands with their strong aromas. I have no reason whatsoever to believe my laundry is not thoroughly clean after using ECOS.I have tried all the alternative options such as soap nuts and the laundry egg but am most impressed by ECOS. I will be purchasing again and am grateful to have found a cruelty free and economical laundry detergent.

I was surprised at how small the bottle was given that it is for 50 washes, but it does seem to work! I like the idea of using chemical free detergent, and the scent is nice but not overpowering, and I especially enjoy it on my bedding as lavender is such a soothing scent. Will continue to use this product.

Would I buy this product again? YESWould I recommend it to a friend? YES!NOTE! This product only has 50 HE washes. There are only 25 normal loads. ( a bit cheeky ) !NOTE!I used to buy the only other economical brand that is available in supermarkets and shops which is Ecover. However Ecovers products contain Perfume, which is frequent skin irritant. There are no legal guidelines on what companies can and cannot put into perfume! (it usually contains 50+ chemicals!! ) Also, there are no beneficial sounding ingredients in Ecover. On the other hand, this product contains no perfume. Instead it contains essential oils which have known health benefits. (consider aromatherapy) I think it's great that this product if scented with lavender, as it is know to calm nerves and that is always useful!Possible cons;I'm not sure if it is good at washing re-usable nappies as it has a built in conditioner...?I saw some washing up stuff from a different brand claiming they were essential oil free... I don't know why perhaps some people are allergic to them?...In conclusion, this product cleans great and is no more expensive than it's rivals. (In fact slightly cheaper) It is more eco-friendly and healthy than competitors. Plus you get free shipping so you can't loose!

Smells good and is water safe, it will clean worn clothes but not stains

I am now on my second bottle of this lovely stuff and I am not planning on going back to regular supermarket stuff any time soon. Partly because having it delivered by Amazon is super convenient, but also because it just does the job so well. It is so simple- no faffing around with any other products. Just measure it out, chuck it in the dosing drawer of your machine, and go. It's got softener built in- I was worried about this at first as I really like snuggly soft clothes. But my washing does come out soft. I love the lavender scent, although I will say that it does fade somewhat after it's been through the wash. I am guessing that strong overwhelming scent you get with 'regular' washing products is an abundance of added chemicals, and the lack of it in this is what makes it kind to the environment? It's really just a very simple product. It does the job well, and no more. If you like super amazing smelly laundry then this is not for you. If you want clean, fresh smelling, soft laundry that is doing it's bit for the environment, I would definitely recommend it.

I really wish I had taken more notice of the negative reviews before buying this product.Clothing and towels, especially, dry as stiff as boards, even after extra rinses, and the product is no good for average or heavy staining. Clothing does not get really clean, unless very lightly used, even after adding the maximum amount, and there is no detectable smell after washing. It's pointless labelling a product as lavender when it is a faint smell as best when being poured from the bottle and has completely disappeared by the time the clothing comes out of the machine.

I have tried and tested many eco washing liquids/powders regularly having to wash the cloths for my Eco cleaning business. I found this one to be particularly poor both in the washing machine and when handwashing...I didn’t feel my cloths were any cleaner. Very disappointed and will stick to Ecover in future.

Oh my goodness, since I discovered this I will use nothing else with as much confidence, have turned on various friends also to Ecos. It washes really well and smells good when clothes comes out of the machine. I love that it's so much more natural than the regular weird chemically washing liquids on the market. I just don't know why everyone doesn't switch to natural cleaners....THIS ONE WORKS! Even convinced a friend who uses an unnamed known product, that smells of chemicals, like really disgustingly...and she tentatively tried a few different things, but this came up with thumbs up. Buy the big bottle, use the dispenser correctly to delver the not so much amount and rock and roll. Don't be tempted to add more, it's unnescessary.

so I got this laundry soap with the understanding that it was "eco friendly" and could be used in a rain water capture through the gray water and could be used to water my plants. that was great. However. as "eco friendly" as it might be, the cloths did NOT come clean. very poor cleaning even at double the recommended usage. I will not buy again nor recommend to anyone.
