I LOVE this little light
I LOVE this little light, however, we are on our second one. The second one is also now breaking (no longer holds a charge). I love that this light can be any color (red, blue, green, or purple). Red is the best light for a night light, so we usually set it to stay on red. I would have given 5 stars if this product actually lasted more than 4 months.

Wish I'd Had One as a Kid
I love this night light! It is cute and colorful and has enabled my three-year-old son to sleep in his bed all night without fear. He used to wake up in the middle of the night when it was super dark in our house and get really frightened and sob his way to our bed. The elephant light seems to comfort him and he stays in his room all night. He loves the rainbow setting (there are rainbow, blue, red, and green settings) and I LOVE that the light will stay on all night if I choose. We couldn't have a traditional night light that plugs directly into an outlet because all of the outlets in his room have large pieces of furniture in front of them. Also, most night lights that don't need to plug into a wall have a timer so that they automatically turn off. A 30 minute timer doesn't work when my son wakes up scared at 2 am. It is nice, though, that I have the option of a 30 minute timer or all night setting. I have the charger sitting on his dresser so when he wakes up in the morning I set the elephant on its charger and it's ready by the time he goes to bed. It seems very durable, but my son only uses it at night anyway. I have the charger where it's not easy for him to reach so I shouldn't have to worry about him damaging it. I am totally thrilled with this purchase. I wasn't planning to spend $25 on a night light but I'm so glad that I did! It has definitely been worth it for several nights of uninterrupted sleep.

Two strikes and you're out
I bought this night light after my 2 year daughter suddenly became afraid of the dark. It worked great for two nights (continuous on for all night illumination), even though the charger cord fit oddly into the blue charging station. My daughter seemed more calm at night and had fun hugging this adorable night light. Then on the third day, when I placed the elephant onto the charging station, the indicator light was flashing red (rather than a steady red when it was charging previously). I replugged everything and it didn't make a difference - still flashing red light. I hoped for the best that night, and put it on in my daughter's room. Come 2am, she's screaming and crying. The light is out and won't turn on. After that sleepless night, I tried to charge it the next day and it still would not charge.I contacted Amazon and arranged for a replacement, which arrived very quickly. I unpacked the night light, set up the charging station and this time - no light! No charging at all. I left it on the charging station for hours, hoping maybe the light was just defective, but when I tested it for the continuous on feature, it cut out. I am really really annoyed that I've now gone through two of these night lights, that would otherwise work great for my daughter, but they both are defective. I'm returning this again and hope to find another cordless night light that actually charges!

Bad charging dock!
The light is good, and my daughter enjoys the elephant shape. However, after owning for about a month, the charging base is going out. The product will automatically come on when pulled off the charging dock, but when I place the light on the dock, it takes a moment to recognize that it should be charging; it then starts, and immediately stops. When this happens, it lights up and will fail to charge. This problem has consequently rendered the light useless unless I take several minutes playing around with the charging dock to get it to work.

Great baby item I didn't realize I needed!
Love this nightlight! When we first moved our baby to her own room, we quickly realized during that first middle of the night diaper change that of all the baby items we purchased, we had no nightlight. During that first middle of the night diaper change in her own room, I had to turn on the table lamp which was bright enough to fully wake her up. I came to amazon and decided to buy this nightlight based on looks, reviews, and the fact you could take it off the base. I love this light. Our baby now sleeps through the night so we rarely use in the middle of the night, but I still find we use this almost daily and we turn it on in timer mode while she falls asleep. This light also gives me plenty of light to see around the room while still keeping the room dark and soothing (I find the blue color great for this!). I also sometimes need to sneak into her room at night to get something, like the laundry, and this light gives me enough light without disturbing her. I have enough light to even read a baby book to her if I have the light right next to me.The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that when you take the elephant off the base, the light defaults to "rainbow" mode.... unless you push the very small button underneath to cycle through and maintain one of the colors. This is fine, but the red color/light (at least for me) is very dark and makes it very hard to see - so in "rainbow" mode, which rotates through the colors, when it gets to red for those 10 seconds or so, I can't see at all. This isn't ideal when you're trying to find your way around a dark room or changing a baby's diaper, etc. I wish it "defaulted" first to blue color instead of "rainbow" and alternating colors.
