3 Point Products Wire Side Step Splint, Small, 0.7 Ounce

I have RA. My first finger, first joint is contracted. I ordered this brace to help straighten this joint. My Rheumatologist wanted me to go for occupational therapy. I told her about this brace and she agreed that it would help my joint. Its very easy to put on, and once you get it to a comfortable position. It works great.

I should've ordered a small instead of a medium for my small hands. The metal base digs in after I've had it on for awhile. Don't listen when someone tells you to go one size up. The foam strapping is extremely soft and comfortable, but the velcro needs more hook area for attaching better. I found the instructional video on their website to be unclear, with too much emphasis on the obvious and then skipping over exactly how to wrap the thing around. The little stick-on tabs came off right away; it seems as if the splint should come with something more permanent already assembled for that price, instead of having you build it yourself.Nevertheless, I do use it occasionally. Not the way they sort of say to, but in another configuration that pushes on my first knuckle, helping it feel better.

If I flex my finger, the finger tip comes off the pad. Therefore it is not practical to sleep with because I flex my fingers in my sleep. I think one needs gentle long-term force to straighten a joint, if this will actually work at all. One can't do normal daily activities with this on, so I don't think it will work if it won't stay on in my sleep. I made a cast of my finger in two halves and put pads where I want to apply pressure. I haven't had it long enough to report if it works. When I saw this brace I thought I could save myself craftsman time by just buying it. However, it won't work for me.

This is rather strange and I never succeeded in straightening my bent finger. I think if you wore it 24/7, it might do more but the directions say to not wear it that much. As soon as I took it off, my finger bent right back over.

I use this most nights while I sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night I think it bothers me and I pull it off. It isn't working but gives me some hope. My index finer is bent from 30 years of pressing on a mouse. I figure it will take a long time to correct the tendons.

Can't see how after eating how it would help anything.

Work wonderful keep my arthritis finger in it place.

Unfortunately this isn't very sturdy. The double edged tape used to hold it in place has already given out, after just a couple of weeks of minimal use. I can't recommend it.
