I converted a bifold door into French doors and used these magnets to keep them closed. Works like a charm. No issues of it separating or anything. Pretty strong hold that my 10 year old has to pull kind of hard to open them.

Ultimately can't complain as it did what i needed it to do and was easy to instal. Magnet is fairly strong, but you have to install perfectly for the plate to be attracted to the magnet. After an adjustment I got it to work. NOTE - it's load with an interior hollow core door when the door closes and the magnet attracts the metal plate - "clunk"

Strong enough to close a kitchen trash drawer.

I recently bought a pantry cabinet from Amazon and one side of the bottom part has a normal door while the other side has a door with shelves. The magnetic latches included with the cabinet (on the right in the photo) were fine for the regular door but completely inadequate to hold the extra weight of the door with shelves. That’s where these magnetic latches came in. I upgraded the latch on the side with the door shelves to one of these larger/stronger magnetic latches and now it stays closed perfectly.

When I first installed one of these 70 lb units, it held the door closed very weakly. The problem was that the screw heads on the metal plate that the magnet attracts do not completely fit into the countersunk holes on the plate; therefore, the magnet is only holding on to the heads of the screws, not the face of the plate. They need to either have a thicker plate with deeper counter sinking or find screws that will fit flush. I made mine work by bending the ends of the plates enough on each end, so that at least most of the middle of the plate could contact the magnet by sitting higher than the heads of the screws.
