Well-made, light, strong, easy-paddling
After a couple of years with "standard" aluminum take-down paddles, we started eagerly waving some carbon paddles around at REI and other kayaking shops. But Werners were $400+ each, Youch!!.When we found these (about 300 a pair), we decided to take the plunge. Money really well spent. Not only are these very high quality paddles, and lighter by more than a full pound over our aluminum dinosaurs, they also have a long, slender blade design that seems more efficient to us (we have an inflatable Sea Eagle). We're not length-sensitive for storage, so the two-piece design is an advantage in that it takes one less operation to assemble. As much fun as paddling was before, it's even more fun now. Love 'em.

Only one trip but great paddle and a great price
Only one trip but great paddle and a great price. I did have to get another person help me pull it apart at the ferrules after the paddle as it stuck pretty badly. I hope it loosens up with further use, but I'd rather have a tight connection than a loose one..

Beautiful fragile paddle
Beautiful paddle that was light-weight and easy to paddle, until it snapped in half after about 6 trips. Regrettably, it was just after the warranty expired.

Three Stars
Somewhat flimsy, I returned it and purchased a Fiberglass paddle.

This paddle is freaking awesome!
This paddle is freaking awesome! I just paddled 20 miles on the Wisconsin river with it, against some high winds and white capped waves for some parts, and my arms didn't even get tired. Super light, yet sturdy enough to push a little off the shore or bottom. I've done the same trip with a standard aluminum paddle and my arms were jello with no wind, they felt perfectly fine with this one. I might have to get a heavier paddle for short trips just so I can get a proper workout from paddling. This didn't break the bank, and I couldn't imagine a better paddle is out there, I couldn't even think of how a 3 or 4 hundred dollar paddle could be better than this one. And to top it off, it is made right here in the U.S. of A.

Paddle is light in weight and the blades appear to be robust. My only concern is the potential for blade warping when stored in a hot car. The

Smooooth as butter
Wow. Coming from a standard costco paddle, which weighs around 1300g, to an incredibly strong and lightweight one like this one (just under 800g), the difference is amazing. It felt like I gained an extra foot or two of distance with each stroke. If you're out on the water a lot, it's definitely worth the money.
