20 Feet Ornamental Spikes - All Stainless Steel - Bonus Cable Ties Included

I bought a couple of bird spike boxes from HD. They worked fine, but were about $30 for 10 of them. These from Amazon were $32.95 (now $29.95). The spikes from HD maybe have a little better base (plastic), but it doesn't matter since I used liquid nails to secure the spikes to my tiled roof. These are better, because they have enough spikes to insert into the middle of the base. Now, this doesn't really matter in my opinion, as pigeons will not land on the spikes. The spikes do not harm the pigeons, it just deters them from entering into the covered spots on my roof, where they make a mess with all their POOP! These do take some time to assemble, but my son and I put them together in about 30 minutes watching TV the night before I put them up. What a great value. I'd buy them again if I needed more.

I installed one set of these spikes knowing that I most likely would be needing more if they seemed to work. I just happened to be there as two of my problem pigeons arrived and I was able to observe. Pigeons aren't stupid, and I could see them realizing something was new and they were studying the problem. After quite a while, one of them attempted to land by grabbing the edge of the railing and quickly squeezing through the side of the spikes. I jumped out and started yelling and waving my arms (something they've seen before!) They both panicked (something I've seen before!). They haven't been back for three days - so far.So, it's best if the birds are forced to land on the pointy ends of the spikes, which in my case they aren't. Still, a good deterrent, and I'm not done yet. The product is clever and well designed, and I've ordered another set.

Pigeons were lining up day after day to use my front door as toilet, not anymore. These are way better than the plastic spikes. They feel sturdy and can be applied with either glue or nails. Also not too unsightly to look at. Assembly is easy, but slightly tedious.

I ordered these spikes to stop small birds from nesting under my awnings. I’m sure they work great for larger birds but small birds like sparrows aren’t even the slightest bit deterred. They happily built their little nests right between the spikes! I could almost hear them laughing at me.The product was easy to assemble and good quality, but as other reviewers report, my fingers became tired and sore after a while. The birds finally did leave, but only because they got tired of me manually pulling down all their hard work.

Birds use to use my steel chase cap as a telegraph line. Since installing these 2 months ago I have yet to have a bird wake me up at 0530 sounding out Morse code. In short they appear to be working, I installed one package on my chase cap (~2' x 4') around the perimeter and the remaining in the center [IIII]. Putting them together was a bit tedious and took about 20 minutes and a sore thumb. (wear safety glasses!!!)

Our pesky window thumping bird just sat upon these spikes... ended up buying a fake owl instead.

Installed in space between house, roof overhang, and gutter from roof to side of house, if that makes sense. Adjustability made it work for all the different sizes I needed, as each space was different. Because you put the spikes in yourself, you can choose not to put some spikes in to make it fit. This was good for me. Also, the metal is bendable so you can use that to help fit as well. No birds thus far, not eye sore.

Compared to a similar product I had been purchasing from Home Depot, with this product you get more linear feet, it uses triple the number of spikes and the flexible metal base allows it to conform to irregular surfaces - not possible with the plastic base product I used previously, and the cost is less. Best of all, my pigeon problem is solved forever
