Bought these after moving into my new apartment and using orthene because TikTok told me that would help if there was a possible pest infestation. Turns out there was no infestation but lord did the orthene leave the funkiest smell. Even when I vacuumed, swept, mopped with pine, vinegar, Clorox, or odorban the chemical odor of orthene was still trapped in my apartment. No airflow from the window or air purifier could get the underlying smell out. It was so bad I returned my shark vacuum because the smell was embedded. Eventually I went to TikTok for an answer and found this. I read the reviews and took a leap of faith. BUY THESES!! They work. If you’ve ever smelt orthene powder you know how bad it smells. Clorox couldn’t even get it out. This works so well. It’s not a cover up it gets the smells removed on a molecular level. Even in small spaces like closets and laundry rooms. My apartment now spells like a home. It last so long. I need to recharge mine in the sun for a reset but it still smells like cleanliness similar to the smell of clean fresh laundry without fake fabric softener just freshness. I ended up buying 2 packs of the large size for my mother to refresh her house. She loved it, she said it got all the trapped, stale air smell out. Her home is older so you know older homes trap odors and have linger smells she says the house is so fresh now!! We love it!!! So worth the money. I bought mine in September and it’s almost November and I haven’t recharged them yet but my home still smells good. My only regret is getting the mixed size. I don’t like the smaller size,they don’t do anything much in my opinion the larger size is a better buy.

I am frankly amazed at how this clears odors from the air. My basement is where the cat litter box is and it also stagnant with no air circulation. I was honestly considering doing some kind of vent to the outside to get some circulation. I did a Google search for non-toxic ways to remove smell and ended up buying these. Within 24 hours my basement smelled like nothing. I am frankly shocked at it and so is my husband. I have now placed the strategically throughout my house. The real test will come in a week when we come back from vacation because you know how your house always smells funky when you come back from vacation and then you wonder if that’s how your house smells all the time to guests. I’ll have to update this and let you guys know.

I get a set of these every year or so and they always help out quite a bit. To be honest, I didn't realize how much they were helping until I stopped using them. I typically stick them around the cat litter box and in the bathrooms. I don't ever use them in the closet or shoes etc. The only thing that is not optimal is that you just have to take them at their word as to when to replace them. It says they're good for 12 months before needing to be replaced, but you really don't know how old they already are, and there is no indicator of "life" or "longevity". Also, because the effect is so subtle, you don't know if you're fully charging them or not. Is all sun created equally? As a gardener, I know it is NOT. That being said, "charge for 2 hours in the sun" is a bit vague. (dappled, full, indirect, direct)

I bought the 12-pack with 6-150s and 6-...50s? I got them because no matter how hard i tried to keep the litter box scooped, the ammonia smell still lingered. I put two 150s in the bathroom ...where I keep the box... 2 in my living room ...1 in the kitchen ...and 1 in my bedroom. I've got a small one in each trash can and rotate them in footwear as i rotate them on my feet. (slippers->shoes) My mother, who has a very sensitive nose(and brought the cat scent to my attention ...i guess i was used to it?), even appreciated them so much that she bought some for herself. She helps take care of horses and tracks their smells around with her in the car, i guess. These are DEFINITELY worth the cost, IMO. Particularly when they don't appear to just cover up the smells by putting more chemicals and/or 'better' scents into the air, but actually pull them out of the air and eliminate them(but not their sources, of course. heh). I'd read 1 or 2 reviews about a chemical smell with these things. I did not experience that at all. There was NO scent to them, as far as i could tell. All they did in my place was remove those smells that were already there. In fact ...i live in an apartment complex and this year there were a couple of people that decided it wouldn't be a problem for anyone if they smoked fish out in front of our building. I tended to leave the windows open as i went to work for the day and when i got home, my apartment reeked. Granted, smoked salmon isn't the worst smell in the world, IMO, but it can linger and set into upholstery/clothing/carpet and not everybody likes it. Anyhow, i closed the windows and a couple hours later BAM! No smoked fish smell. I started closing my windows before i left for work and it is no longer stuffy ...when not allowing fresh air to circulate... when i get home either, so i really think i am going to appreciate these this winter, as well. The next test is how long they last. So far, so good. I haven't moved them in weeks and they still seem to be working just as well as they were at the first. If they lose their effectiveness in another month(as has been noted in reviews), i plan to set them on the window sill for a dose of UV radiation to 'recharge'(also noted). I'll try to remember to update this review with the results at the time. All told, so far, this appears to be one of the best purchases i've ever made.

Purchased these for use in cat room to help with litter box odors. These were totally ineffective. I used 2 of the large ones but still not effective. I didn’t return them as I can use them in closets and storage bags with clothes.

Works great , I’ve had these a week and can tell a big difference . I am ordering more today

I skate outside in Louisiana and so my gear gets very wet and sweaty. I put one charcoal pack inside of each item of gear as I put them in the trunk. One in each skate, one in each knee pad. Drastically improves the drying time of the gear instead of having a perpetual lingering damp funk. I generally leave the packs in the sun to reactivate every few skate sessions and they help keep my gear fresher between washes (which helps keep my car from smelling like a gym bag!)

Recently had 2 cats move in with a relative and needed them outdoors only. These little charcoal bags are hung all over the patio and. YES. thye actually helped a great deal with the cat smell.

Do not see much difference in air quality. Ok ok product and cost is too high.
