Brushed Pewter Distress Crackle Paint - Awesome When Used Correctly
The media could not be loaded. I think this "Brushed Pewter" Distress Crackle Paint is terrific. It is easy to use and the results are fabulous if you apply it liberally and let it dry naturally. Although after it begins to form cracks, you could then use your heat tool, but the results are better when left to air dry. A search for "Distress Crackle Paint" on YouTube will yield a video by Tim Holtz of Ranger (see attached video -OR- on YouTube -- Distress Crackle Resist - [...]) demonstrating Distress Crackle Paint and he suggests (at 2:48 in the video) using a medium to thick coat. The medium coat will yield light cracks and the thick coat will leave deeper cracks. I have used this "Brushed Pewter" Crackle Paint with spectacular results. If you use the "Brushed Pewter" and after it dries naturally, dab a bit of Adirondack Alcohol Ink on it, it makes the translucent Alcohol Ink appear to be metallic. It's a way to get your favorite Alcohol Ink colors to look metallic. (Metallic Distress Crackle Paint in Custom Colours - [...]) I painted leaf-shaped chipboard cut outs with the "Brushed Pewter" Crackle Paint and after they dried naturally (not with a heat tool), I dabbed them with red, orange and yellow Alcohol Inks and they look like metallic Fall Leaves - perfect for my project.

Not crackling at all.
Did I get a bad batch? Paint doesn't crackle in the slightest, no matter how thin I paint it on or what I paint it on.

Too footery
Not very good to apply and hard to judge thickness, if not thick enough hardly any crackle or no crackle at all.

Total waste of time and money - NOT A CRACKLE IN SIGHT!!!!!
What a total waste of time and money.I used it to paint a black ceramic lamp base hoping the crackles would show through. Impossible to paint on evenly. Some places super thick and others only thin. NOT A CRACKLE IN SIGHT!!!!!All theories about whether you should apply thick/thin coat are irrelevant. Not sure what to do other than bin the whole project. I am so cross!Save your money!!!!
