In a nuclear event, yes, it's true you want your thyroid topped off with iodine so it does not absorb any radioactive iodine (and cause thyroid cancer). But your thyroid makes hormones from iodine all the time. (triiodothyronine -- tri is 3, iodo is iodine) If you do not have enough iodine it cannot make the hormones. Why not have your thyroid chock full of good iodine all the time. For anyone thinking their thyroid might be a little low ( cold all the time, dry skin, thinning hair, etc) an iodine supplement is a first line of treatment. I like it. This is a very high dose and I do not take every day. Good value.

I have not opened any of these bottles yet; they are stashed for the possibility of a radiation event, given that we live in dangerous times. This was the best dosage at the best price that I could find. It's critical to have assimilable iodine on hand prior to needing it, because it's extremely unlikely you'll be able to find it in a radiation emergency. I went shopping for it in a few places and no Pharmacy that I checked with had it on hand, which I found quite amazing. Plan ahead, order it and put it away, and hope that you never ever need it.

A bit pricey at the time I purchased, but I do see the price has come down.

hopefully i never test these out but with the world leaders working together the way they are these are better to have on hand than not to have. Hopefully they are what they say they are and they work if not RIP for me and the fam.

With the upheaval in other countries there seems to be a run on products such as these. I've ordered from other companies and never got the product and was refused a refund. However these came in the time frame promised. And they are made in the USA. Always a PLUS!

It would be unfair to rate this as it did not work for my issue.

The 130 mg pill is the widely recommended daily dose for 14 days in case of nuclear fallout. Have not taken any so don't know about the flavor or how easy they are to swallow and hope that I will never have to take any, but just in case.
