It is a nice lock but I can't use it for the intended purpose. I purchased it for a storage unit and they way they are designed, it will not fit. Might want to measure before you buy.

The shank is just the right diameter and the lock body is the correct shape to lock the doors on shipping containers. I use them on chains to lock things too. I own 14 pf these locks and they all perform well. These aren't locks you can bump open (like standard spring/pin locks). Too many thieves have lock bumping tools these days.It's nice that I can attach the lock such that the keyway is down. But, water can still get into the shackle and freeze. I could put a rubber flap over the lock, but I just keep a little butane torch in my truck. To be clear, there are no weatherproof locks.

Ordered 4 keyed-alike, 2-3/8" locks. One box had only the keys and was missing the lock, but they sent out another right away. Each lock comes with 4 keys, that means I have a total of 16 keys for the 4 locks. Seems excessive, but considering these keys are no something you can simply have the local hardware store copy I have no concerns.The lock is heavy duty. You need the key to even lock it. No accidental locking something with the key inside.The key design means you can't use a bump key to open and if using the correct hasp there is no using a bolt cutter. However, saws and cutoff tools will still disable the lock. Hence my use of Mytee lockboxes welded to the shipping container to make it a little more difficult.

This is a super cool and unique little lock. It's heavy and has a nice quality feel to it. The keyway is not like most other designs found in the US, and the mechanism is buttery smooth. You do have to insert the key fully in order to open the lock, and I believe all those complaining about breaking keys just get impatient and try to force the lock. The keys are solid and would never break under normal use circumstances. Also, the bolt is unsprung, meaning once the lock is unlocked, it has to be physically pulled open. I bought the smaller version of this lock hoping I would be able to use it to secure my trailer to my truck while parked at the boat ramp, but the bolt was too big to fit through the hole in the latch without having to drill it out. Still a very nice little lock.

Purchased 4 of these keyed alike for my shipping container. They fit and function perfectly. Any lock can be defeated with a cutoff tool or torch, but short of having some serious tools these locks are about as good as it gets to keep the crackheads and whatnot out. And each lock came with 4 keys, so I have 16 keys which is awesome!

Like the padlock but now would like to get more keyed the same and I can’t find anyway to contact them??

The only thing that I can think is that there is some moisture that got in there and either rusted or seized up the rings on the interior side that is not allowing the pull to disengage. I am sorry there is not an easier solution to the situation, but that is the best option right now.UPDATE: Using a cheap blade on a cordless saws-all, I cut through the body of this lock in about 90 seconds.

I ordered this and right out of the box it comes with 4 keys. Feels like a good solid product. It’s shiny, so it looks great. Unfortunately in my case, the storage unit I was going to use it on has a very low locking mechanism and I’ll need a more conventional shaped lock, for me to be able to lock it. This locks shape doesn’t allow me to put the lock through the hole at all, because it’s 1/4 inch too shallow to reach.Unfortunate. Looks like a great lock.

Don’t purchase these locks if you have security in mind as I have recently purchased two of them a month apart and unbelievably they are keyed exactly the same. What an absolute rip off especially when I’m trying to secure my worldly goods in a storage unit!!!

Had this lock for 3 days. Put it on a back gate and someone stole it easily unlocked. So please don’t say your lock is theft proof if easy to unpick. Not impressed with this product at all.

I have three now and I can’t find them anymore. What happened? I love the keyed alike set.
