Tiny! Not for swaddling
I bought these on impulse because of the adorable alligator patterns (My Nater Gator is due any day now!) But I wouldn't purchase them again as I can't really see what I'm going to be using them for. They seemed small coming out of the package and even smaller coming out of the dryer. It's been 5 years since I've had a newborn in the house however I can't imagine these will work for swaddling. I pulled out my old receiving blankets from Carter's t9 compare and realized these are so tiny! They'll be fine to cover my baby in the car seat or maybe as a burp cloth but honestly I think they'd make better doll swaddles for my daughter than anything. Which is a shame because they're super soft and have great patterns. For 5 dollars more I can get 7 Carter's blankets that I know will be a decent size, so that's where I'm heading now.

Look carefully at description!
I've been looking all over for "blankets" this size. I wouldn't really call them blankets, because they are a very thin cotton flannel. I use them folded in half or fourths. However, they are the PERFECT burp cloth/wipe. Much more absorbant than the muslin swaddles, and smaller and more manageable. The traditional receiving blanket size is too big. My babies have always been spitters, so whenever I put them down on any surface (baby rocker, baby gym, the couch, my bed, a blanket), I ALWAYS put one of these down. If my baby is horizontal, you will find one of these under their head.I also tuck one under my nursing bra, because it's great to catch milk when your little one pops off in the middle of a let down, or falls asleep with a mouth full of milk and dribbles it everywhere. In the early days of nursing, I would go through 3-4 of these a day. I wash them constantly on a regular cycle, washer and dryer. They have held up very nicely. I would highly recommend this as a gift to anyone expecting a baby.

Very very thin and uneven, but cute
These are VERY thin and the edges aren't even staight, so these aren't even really a rectangle or square. I have some cheaper ones from Walmart and Target from my baby shower that are much better quality (thick, soft, and perfectly shaped). I ended up using these to help stuff AIO diapers because there's really not much you can do with them. I initially bought them to use as a flat diaper, but I can see light shining through the fabric because they are so thin. They are super cute though!!

Scratchy, Thin, Small- Should Be Labeled Burp Cloths
Pretty designs, but not soft at all! Super thin, and on the small side. If your infant is longer than 19in, you’ll be lucky to get much use out of them as a receiving / swaddling blanket. And that’s if you want the material to touch them- it’s scratchy and no where near the “soft & cuddly” description insinuated. They’re more suited for burp cloths/spit up rags.

Super small but cute patterns
These are just okay. They are incredibly small. They are not your standard sized receiving blankets by any means. The patterns are cute though. And they are more of a flannel style blanket than cotton. After I washed them they shrunk quite a bit. So now I just use them as an extra liner on my diaper changers.

Skip it
These are flannel receiving blankets. I was specifically looking for not flannel. Returning isn't an option because I have a premie baby and no printer to print at home. Not going out during flu season. HUGE inconvenience.

A great Spring/Summer but maybe not a Fall
These were not as thick as what I thought so for this purpose I do think they are great for spring/summer. That’s straight out of the box though. I don’t know maybe they’ll shrink into being thicker lol.

Just right for dog bed
I used my receiving blankets to make covers for my dog beds, they are already bound so I sewed them on three sides and use them like pillow cases for standard lg. dog bed, now I can change when needed. They look pretty for my girls Thelma and Louise!
