I LOVE this book. I’m a beginner and having the step by step instructions of what order to do the pattern in, how many strands of floss etc is fantastic! The author has an extensive library of YouTube video tutorials on different stitches so you can do it all. I have learned so much from two of the easier patterns. This book would be great for any level of stitcher. The patterns are adorable and so creative! As I get more confident I will be able to change up colors and customize but for now it was exactly what I needed to get started. My first project was stitched on a flour sack dish towel and it turned out so well I’m almost sad to use it in the kitchen. Highly recommend!!

I’ve never been happier about pre-ordering a book! This book far exceeds my hopes for it, and now I really can’t wait to dig in and make everything. There’s such a great variety of gorgeous, adorable, and quirky designs. The author also gives ideas for using pieces of the designs separately and for adapting the designs to different projects, including embellishing clothes or making into jewelry. Even better, this book really lives up to being a workbook. Instructions and photos are very clear and easy to follow. It’s a perfect balance of information and demonstration to get the results without being overly technical or bogging you down in explanation. The print quality means that this will stand up over lots of use. I can’t say enough about how pleased I am with this purchase!

If I could give this book 100 Stars I would!! If you are a beginner on your Embroidery Journey, want to work on real projects that teach you new skills, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg doing it. This is for you! I spent at least three hours and over two days googling and researching books on embroidery. Since I am beginner I was looking for just the right book so I could learn and grow. After looking at books that made me feel like I would never be as good as the designs presented in them, I felt discouraged. Then I came across this book, I read the reviews, watched a couple YouTube videos on it, and took a chance and I am very pleased that I did! Yes, you have to invest in few things to help along. I purchased a light board, the hoops, needles, material and string. All worth it once I started working on the projects in this book. I also looked up Youtube video's to help me learn stiches, since I am visual learner (however, her step by step stich guide in the front of the book is very detailed. )Also, her website is super helpful with videos and patterns. In this book Jessica Long will walk you step by step with each pattern. She does not make you feel like you need to be Leonardo Da Vinci overnight "Rome was not Built in a Day." The Fly Lady. She teaches the basics, but she also helps her students to advance into the harder territories of embroidery. When you do the patterns and follow along, you actually feel and see the results of you hard work. This review it for the person who has been looking for hours like I did and needs someone upfront, honest about this book. I hope, if that is you, you will also take the chance like I did in purchasing the book and exceling in your skills at embroidery. This book has a ton of cute animal patterns with instructions and tips. Everything from the color floss you'll need to diagrams of stitch directions.

I don’t know why someone would mail a book in an envelope. The contents of the book is beautiful, and it’s loaded with projects & information, but it could be in better condition. The back cover has an indention and the front cover of the book is bent a little on the corner. I stopped ordering from here because of things like that, and I’ve given it another chance. It’s hit or miss. Sometimes things are packed well and come in perfect condition, and sometimes not. It’s a real pain in the butt when you’re trying to order gifts.

My nine year old started teaching herself how to embroider, and wanting to encourage her, I got her this book. She loves it! The instructions are easy to follow, well written, and accompanied with diagrams. The artwork is beautiful, and it comes with patterns for everything featured in the book, too! My daughter has learned so much about embroidery from just this book alone! Definitely recommend!

This book has so many cute patterns! I made the hedgehog for my nephew and it (took forever) but was so cute! Still consider myself a beginner but this was simple to follow. It also has some easier projects and some more difficult projects so it’s great for embroiderers of all skill levels!

This is a comprehensive book on how to "paint" with embroidery. Lovely samples. Clear instructions. Many examples. Excellent book!

Cet ouvrage est sublime. Je suis débutante en broderie et la première partie du livre est parfaite pour comprendre les bases (utilisation du tambour, etc). J'ai acheté plusieurs livres de broderie pour débutant.e.s et celui-ci est de loin le meilleur et le plus complet. Les projets de broderie sont plus ou moins classés par difficulté, de sorte qu'il est possible de les effectuer dans l'ordre chronologique en développant chaque fois un peu plus de maitrise technique. Les projets en eux-mêmes sont d'une beauté surprenante pour ceux et celles qui apprécient ce style. Je recommande franchement, sans hésitation! Je mettrais plus d'étoiles si je le pouvais.

Das beste Buch übers Sticken, das ich je hatte! Für den günstigen Preis hatte ich nicht so viel erwartet und ich wurde positiv überrascht. Der erste Eindruck: Das Buch ist ziemlich dick, die Papier- und Farbqualität hervorragend. Absolut sinnvoll gegliedert: Nicht nur von leicht nach schwer, sondern auch zwischen den "einfacheren" verschiedenen Zierstichen und der sogenannten thread-painting-technique, die noch mehr Übung erfordert. Ich würde das Buch jedem empfehlen, der gerne süße Tierchen sticken möchte, absolut egal, wie geübt oder ungeübt man ist! Top!
