Worth it
Easy to use. Great arc strike and control on thin metals. Lays down some heat on the thick stuff. I should have stepped up to Miller long ago.

I laid down some of the best beads I have ever ran on the first pass
I haven't had a ton of time with this new welder. But 2 things really stood out instantly. The weight! It's light, Almost crazy light. And for someone who is just a weekend welder. It welds amazingly well. I laid down some of the best beads I have ever ran on the first pass. The penetration was dead on. The bead was well formed and the auto setting was almost dead on. It did seem on thicker material just a little extra heat worked a bit better. I suppose my only negative would be the same one almost everyone has had. The ground clamp is cheap. Its very thin and just doesn't look like it will hold up very well. I'm sure it will be fine for me. But if your using every day an upgade is probably in order.

I love this machine being in my shop!
I love this welder. I ran a 220 circuit for it. So I have not tried it on 110. I probably won't unless I need to take it outside my shop to fix something for someone. That seems wonderful about this product.I have only used it with solid wire and gas shielding. I am no expert by any means. I do know that when I have tried flux core wire on a different machine, I ended up with terrible results. It could just be me.Update 6.5 years later: I Love this welder.

I ain’t no welder…
Got this as a learn to weld unit, lot of YouTube videos spoke highly of Miller and this Millermatic 211. I do small engine repair on the side and sometimes I sure wish I had a welder and I decided to give this one a try. Figured since Eric with SMA uses it then it must be good.Well one thing I didn’t really care for was how the mig gun was just a pressure fit into the feed spool thing seems like a twist lock would be more reasonable here. There also was no grommet, or filler material to go in the opening for the mig gun maybe just nit picking but I feel like it should be sealed up.Speaking of sealed did you know the electronics are all exposed on this unit that alone dropped two stars offThe weight was a bit heavy but as this is my first welder I don’t really know any comparisons so take that as you will. The ground lead was a bit short and the nut and bolt stripped out immediately upon tightening it down I would definitely recommend upgrading your ground clamp. The mig gun lead is a bit short as well I figure 15-20 feet would be ideal but this is like 8-10 feet probably best for smaller shops. Now onto the good.If you’re going to spend $2k plus then maybe the above negatives would steer you away I know if I knew this before I dropped that kind of money I would’ve went a different route. The 110/220 capability is great feature and definitely handy. The setup was super easy and quick. It comes with capabilities to run various size spoolsIt comes setup to run .030, .035, and even .024You can also flux core weld with this machineI like the easy push and turn to adjust the size of wire you’re running.Lastly it is compact enough to throw it in the pickup grab a spool of Flux cored wire and goOverall at least for me just starting out I should’ve went with a different machine but looking back on it I’m glad I went with this one I was looking at the Lincoln flux core welder century but was leaning more towards the 211 and so far I’m fairly impressed with it. I just don’t think it’s worth $2k plus.

Great Welder
Love it. Wish I hadn't waited so long to upgrade. Powerful, light, easy to use and makes great welds. I also bought the spool gun and can't wait to use it. Certainly hope it will be less tedious to weld aluminum than my TIG. Also love the easy to use dual voltage setup. Super easy. One criticism - description on Amazon says it comes with an M-10 gun. So I stocked up on tips, nozzles, etc. It doesn't!! It comes with the MDX-100 gun - consumables have no compatibility. Whoever buys my old Millermatic 135 is going to get lots of spares.
