Scotty#136 Paddle / Net Clip

This was recommended by our kayak manufacturer, Wilderness Systems. It's durable, high-quality, has inset screw holes near the outer edges so that it's stronger and more stable. It works great and all of our standard paddles snap in snugly and fit perfectly! We installed one on each side of our kayak. Make sure you install them above the water level. The only thing this company should include for the price are screws. You'll have to go to a hardware store and pick up stainless steel screws and self-anchoring bolts.

Have used it for over a month now. Works very well with my Vibe Skipjack kayak. Had to make custom holes and aces it on there. Very easy to do and fits perfect with my paddle. Cheap and effective.

Exactly what I needed to add to my Kayak. Being new to paddling every trip out I find I need another gadget to make it easier. This clip should work for most paddles and some fishing rods. It was easy to attach to my kayak, but I did make sure that it wasn't going to be in the way of paddling or going to hit my knuckles before securing it. It does not come with any hardware, so you'll have to figure out what you need. I chose to pre-drill a starter hole and then also applied Loctite Stik 'n Seal Outdoor Adhesive around the bolt on both sides before securing with a nut. It is holding up well and now leaves me hands free when I want to be. Overall a good item, but a bit overpriced for what it really just a piece of plastic.

I have a small boat (Pelican Bass Raider 10E) and needed something to hold my collapsible paddle out of the way since floor space is a premium. This clip fit the bill perfectly. Seems to be well made. The two mounting holes protrude from the base of the unit - the entire base of the unit does not rest against whatever you are mounting it on.

This was a hit or miss. They clip and work correct sometimes. If the paddle handle gets wet, or clips get wet, they may not hold the paddle as intended. I spend lots of time getting paddle orientated just right so it clips in properly while on an outing. Not as easy as stow and go. Not a bad product in terms of strength and durability, a composite shaft paddle may fit in the clip better than my aluminum shafts do. But they should specify on the packaging which paddle shaft works best with this particular paddle clip.

I installed these on one side of each kayak and took them out on the lake. The paddles easily pop in and out without any problems. They even stay on when battling a fish on the side with the paddle. I am waiting for two more to come in the mail so I can attach to the other sides of each kayak that way we can place the paddle easily on either side. These are sturdy and well worth the buy! You won't regret it!!! (Note that in the picture my kayaks each came with built in paddle holders, which is the rope and hook method that you see undone, but that was such a pain to deal with when fishing. So that is why I bought these)

This little gem is worth it's weight in gold. Used this all summer long on my sit inside Old Town fishing kayak. Extremely useful for fishing kayaks. Made the switch from paddling to fishing smooth, seamless, easy. The plastic it is made out of is strong, yet flexible to receive your paddle. But doesn't have too much flexibility in the plastic where your paddle might fall out. Had another buddy buy a different clip and his paddle won't stay in every time.

I love the clip, but it loses 1 star because the manufacturer is too lazy to include mounting hardware. i understand why, because they really won't know how you'll mount it, but I'm sure it can't cost more than about 30 cents to include 4 bolts (long/short), 2 washers, and 2 nuts. Having to run up to the hardware store to get some annoyed me more than it should, especially since they didn't have quite the right ones. Anyway, mounted it. I drilled mine and used stainless steel bolts. The location is a little wonky, because I really did not want to have this in a place I would hit with my hand every stroke. I also wanted to make it as flush as possible with the top of the kayak because I carry this on my car and didn't want it to protrude such that it would scratch or dent my car. But overall, I like it. It's very sturdy and I don't worry the paddle is going anywhere. I can't wait to use it. I also found that drilling the holes slightly smaller than the bolts gives it a little extra holding power, the nuts just keep it in place. Very happy with this purchase.

Not the best system lost mine at sea it pulled out fixings not good enough

they are a perfect fit, makes it so nice when you are done paddling and ready to fish, just clip your paddle in there. very snug and will not fall out
