Very nice hobby surface planer
The planer arrived well packed and without any damage. It's a somewhat heavy package, at 60-70lbs, so someone with limitations on lifting weight may need some help to unpack it, but otherwise the process is fairly easy for one person. As others have mentioned, the stand is too short to be very useful without making some changes, but it's nice to have it anyway. The extra blades are a real plus too but I actually ordered another set for ~$16 just so I could have them when I needed them; after all sharp cutting blades are imperative for best results. Another thing is that the instructions are more than a little wanting, so you'll have to work things out on your own. Fortunately, there's not much to do to complete the setup properly. One of the main things is to align the in-feed and out-feed rollers with the cutting table, because if you don't, there will be snipe produced in the result. There are two bolts under each of the in-feed/out-feed trays that are used to adjust the roller height. Place a good straight edge on the cutting table and then adjust the tray heights to have the rollers just touch the straight edge -- I used a piece of paper to ensure that I could tell when the roller just contacted the straight edge -- be sure to check both sides of each tray to ensure that the tray isn't tilted too. After the setup, I planed a piece of poplar to see what the surface finish was like and check snipe; bottom-line the surface was fantastic, and there was pretty much zero snipe. The thickness was what I set it for, within a few tenths of a millimeter. I was only taking small cuts (approx. 1mm or 1/16"). Yes, it could probably take more, depending on the wood hardness and width, but this is a home use tool, not something you'd want for professional use. So, I'll continue to work with the smaller depth cuts; and if used within its limitations, it'll be an excellent and affordable addition to any home shop.

It works great but for some reason mine didn't come with the adjustment knob
It didn't come with an adjustment knob somehow. You have to contact the manufacturer if this happens or return the whole thing. Seeing as thoigh I put the whole thing together before I noticed I wasn't taking it apart for that.

Great purchase!
My husband was so pleased with the quality and function of this planer. He always checks prices and features before purchasing more expensive pieces of equipment. This checked all the boxes and was cheaper than the big box stores.

Works great
I've used many other planers on jobsites and this did bog down a little with a big bite, but thinner passes no problems. The stand Is "iffy" and is flimsy. I mounted a 3/4 piece of real plywood and casters to the legs. Now it rolls easily around the shop. Plywood and casters are a must to get.

Works well, easy to set up and use, lots of extras included
I've never used a planer, so I found this one easy to set up and use as a beginner. There is a full set of extra blades, adapters for common dust collector systems, and a few tools included with the planer. The only part I didn't like was the incredibly short stand. When I set the planer on it, the infeed was just above my knees. It really needs to be at least a foot taller, and 15" would be even better. I solved the problem by swapping stands with another tool I had.

Well built planer, easy to use, good price.....
Shipped quickly and simple to "set up" (which is not much). The stand is easy to assemble, but it takes some time and patience. I did not use the stand, but used the rubber feet on a piece of granite. There was no vibration or movement of the planer at all. The first thing I did was to bring down a 7/8" piece of Bocote to 1/2". When turned on, it makes about as much noise as a table or circular saw, but when it is cutting wood, it gets considerably louder, but still nothing outrageous. In about 10-12 passes, I had a 1/2" board perfectly smooth. The BEST part of the machine are the infeed and outfeed rollers. They grab and move the board for you, so there is no need to push and hold the board. Just get it started and let it go. I planed a 4' board, and got no snipe. It is light enough to lift and move as needed. Great little addition to my shop.

Looks well made but showed up missing parts and broken belt.
Seems like a really good product, showed up with a broken belt and missing a bag of bolts for the stand/dust vest. The belt has been pretty hard to find. Feels well constructed, will update review after I get the replacement.

Waste of time
The product was easy to set up. However the handle did not come with the item. I called the number provided in the buyers manual and that was a total fail. I did not get a return call and left several messages. I devised a make shift handle and that worked sufficiently for a test run. After several runs with a 1/64th deep pass the fuse popped. After a few more runs it just quit. If you run 2x4's and smaller it may work out. If you run anything larger (2x6, 2x8 or larger) forget it!

Pros and Cons
Pretty good value for the money, however shipping was strange as it ended up being delivered to the local liquor store of all places. The instructions manual is small and very hard to understand. Seems to work pretty well and easy to assemble. Changing the blades is brutal. If i had to purchase again i would be 50/50 on purchasing again.

Blades are not very good at all !
Used it for reclaiming cleaned pallet wood. The stand is far short for comfortable work, and the blades are really cheap. They were showing signs of chips in the blades within 10 to 12 boards.
