Clear Ray XL Replacement Bulb

We replace it regularly per manufacturers of Jacuzzi instructions. After first time easy to install. Just make sure you don't touch anything by bare hand or get the oil of your skin directly or indirectly on parts. Use glove and toilet tissue (does not have moisturizer on it).

My spa dealer wanted to charge me $250 for this part plus installation. When I looked up the part and saw the price, I thought...surely I can do this myself and save some money! Sure enough, I found a YouTube video with someone (from another dealership) who walked you through how to install it. It took less than 20 minutes from start to finish and saved me a couple hundred bucks.

Replacing this bulb on my Jacuzzi is difficult. Part of the difficulty is where the tub is placed and part the location of the UV system in the Jacuzzi. Given the difficulty I would prefer to replace the bulb only when it is no longer working instead of annually as directed by the owners manual. And at $40 a bulb it bothers me to recycle something that has more use left. The bulb does what it is supposed to do but at high cost and at a waste.

The heading and body of the description of this item claim the bulb is by ClearRay but is in fact made by LUTRACE. In other words I though I was getting an OEM product when in fact it was a "compatible item". I hope it works as well and lasts as long which remains to be seen

I previously bought a cheaper “knock-off” version of the lamp and it lasted only 2 months. This one is the same as original equipment and has been working fine so far. Plus it is supposed to be longer than original so more UV light is transmitted to the water.

Fit fine, I appreciated that it already had the rubber sleeves on. All the videos I watched said the sleeves had to be reused off of the original bulb and that the OEM kit came with latex gloves, this kit was just the bulb and sleeves.My only reserve was that this doesn’t look like a OEM part. The original (on the right in the pic) has the manufacturers trademark and part number on the bulb. The new one on the left had no markings. I paid the $80 rather than the $25 the knock off versions were charging because I think this is an important component and was OK knowing I was buying a true-spec part. Not convinced that’s what I got.

Simple packaging, well protected bulb with included glove, and transportation seal on end of bulb. This item fits my Sundance Edision SPA. I did not have to clean the quarts tube, so replacement was a simple slide out the old and slide in the new (using the provided glove). When you go to extract the bulb note how far in the old bulb is to know far the new bulb must be pushed in to be seated properly. Check the old bulb to see if the black transportation came out with the bulb.In some cases there may have never been a transportation seal on the old bulb, but if you go to put the new bulb in and it doesn't seat as far in as the old bulb the seal is at the end of the quartz tube. I just took my old bulb screwed it into the seal and extracted it (pretty easy in my case).

The bulb doesn't have the ClearRay logo etched on it like the original and comes in plain packaging so it's very hard to know if it's an 'official' spare part or not. However it fits into the holder tube exactly and the electrical connection fits, and the little green light on the transformer lights up to say the bulb is working.Apart from that it's very hard to know if this bulb is working or not - but that's true of the whol ClearRay system!

Matched the original and appears to be working ok. Will have to see if it lasts for a year

Geen specificatie geprint op de lamp. Rubberen top uiteinde lamp net iets te dik om in kwartsbuis te plaatsen, duwen lukte ook niet..heb oude rubberen top vorige lamp gehaald om op nieuwe uv-lamp te bevestigen. Lamp werkt(stroom aangesloten en lamp uit kwartsbuis om te testen) maar kwam beetje condens in bij afsluiten stroom vooraleer lamp in kwartsbuis te plaatsen. Ik weet niet of ik de volgende keer dezelfde lamp bestel, ofwel via mijn jacuzzi-verdeler. Daar kost het 150€, maar dat geeft op een of andere manier meer vertrouwen. Jacuzzi j-355
