This is a 110 v bulb
This bulb worked fine in my small pond. When I first installed it, the cellular algae was pea soup thick. It took several weeks to clear. Important to note that this bulb is a 110volt bulb but the writeup by TetraPond doesn't designate what the voltage is for any of the various wattage bulbs. I did get a response to a question about voltage that I posted saying that the 2-pin base was a 110v industry standard. I have purchased, mistakenly, 60 volt bulbs with the same base and ignorantly installed the bulb in my UV holder. They immediately fried. You'll save time and money if you first determine what the voltage is of the unit you have.

TetraPond did it again.
I replaced my TetraPond Bulb for GreenFree UV Clarify. They were easy to install and they clear the green alga over two days. I recommend buying this product.

Turned water from green to clear in 5 days
Water was super green couldn't see an inch into it I have a very large pond with a filter cleaning and new light water was crystal clear in four to five days, after cleaning filters a couple times the water stayed green until getting the new light.

Replace once a year for best results
I was seeing more and more algae in my tank over the last few months and was trying all sorts of stuff to fix it but in the end I had forgotten the simplest thing -- change the UV bulb!! I totally didn't realize that it had been 3 years since I changed it. The old bulb (also one of these) still worked and I could see it through the little sight glass but as soon as I took it apart you could tell that the spectrum was all wrong. It really is best practice to change these once a year for maximum effectiveness. Stick with OEM or they wear out WAY faster...
