Works well.
Works really well but the taste must be bad because my GSD who is a foody and will eat anything, won't eat this, so I have to force her to take it using the syringe at the back of the mouth as instructed on the package.

Our Vet recommended it
Our large dog gets IBS (or something like it) and it won't go away without Vet intervention. Naturally the vet wants to do hundreds of dollars worth of tests, and we don't. We've had mild success using over the counter people medicine but that made me nervous so off to the vet we'd go for some $100 dog pepto bismol stuff. (we found our dog, a mutt, with some German shepherd DNA has a chronic diarrhea issue that is common in German Shepherds, but there is no cure, just have to control his diet) A well meaning neighbor gave him a whole bunch of dog treats that irritated his system and off we went to the vet. He gave us Diagel and it worked almost immediately. But our dog is really affected by this disease and we returned him to his regular diet way too soon so he got diarrhea again within a week. Back to rice, then chicken and rice, after another dose, kept him on chicken n rice for a couple more weeks. All in all this product saved a lot of money, and a nervous dog from having pills shoved down his throat 3 times a day and he was back to his cheery self. We now keep one on hand in the off chance he eats something bad and his system reacts in the worst way.

It is a necessity in my rescue!!!
I'm a dog rescuer. I have seen DiaGel turn bloody, liquid blow out poop into nice solid stool in 24 hours. I also have a little chorkie who is prone to stress diarrhea. He hates the taste of Diagel and it's a fight to get it down him but it always fixes the problem within hours. We have used this product with great success for several years in my rescue. I have never seen anything else work as quickly and safely as Diagel for diarrhea in dogs. The cat formula is a godsend as well. My vet explained it to me that it sort of resets the GI tract. It's a must have in my rescue first aid kit!

This was a miracle worker for Tater’s mystery illness!
One morning I woke up to my 2 year old English Bulldog having diarrhea. Go to the bathroom, come out and he is sitting in a pool of blood. He couldn’t stop. It wasn’t even poop, it just looked like blood. He seemed terrifyingly sick, took him to the vet immediately.Vet ran tests, bloodwork, x-rays, were convinced he had giardia or something, but everything came back negative. On paper, he should’ve been 100% healthy. Clearly, he wasn’t. They kept him for a day, started medications and didn’t see much improvement, but he didn’t get worse. They sent him home, just told me to watch him. Gave me the medications and the syringe of Diagel. The first day home I didn’t see a change after the meds. The second day I gave him Diagel.... and it was a miracle. Other than the antibiotics he could stop the other medications they gave him. It was pretty much like nothing ever happened, and he was back to being his normal happy self... over night! The only explanation we could come up with as far as how this happened out of nowhere, was that he had been at daycare that day and weren’t aware there had been a large water main break, and so he could’ve had contaminated water before the utility company showed up. But no other dogs were sick, so who knows. 🤷🏻♀️ He’s almost 4 now, and never had anything like that happen since, thank goodness!I can’t say this will be the same experience for everyone, but especially $800 at the stumped vet, with no real results from medications yet, this was literally an overnight miracle for us. It still sounds too good to be true when I say this, but it. worked. miracles. I can’t say that enough!

One treatment. All better.
I gave it to 3 of my dogs. All were better within 24 hours. No one needed a second dose.

Stopped the diarrhea 😃
This product is ok for cats per the company's website, and the larger size is more economical. Especially if your cat is as hard to medicate as mine! He didn't like the taste and drooled afterwards. But this *finally* stopped his diarrhea when metronidazole and antibiotics didn't help much after a $250 diarrhea panel that found c. Perfringens (which can be found in many cats without diarrhea, and extra fiber in food can help). Worth every penny and I'm keeping some on hand just in case. Give it a try!
