I purchased this for my grand-daughter, she loves to read so it was perfect! In our family grandmothers buy teacups for each year the grand-daughter graduates from a school year culminating in a teacup collection +teapot +teacozy. It's a tradition beginning with my great grandmother. For the boys, we buy tools and a toolbox. Kinda sexist, but we actually ask the kids which they want, one of the boys wants both so he gets a teacup one year and tools the next year.My granddaughter loved the teacup because it's larger than most and very pretty. It is made in England and is machine washable.
