It's great to get a product that lives up to its presentation. These mittens are sized well and the material and construction are high quality. I don't know if sub zero weather will require them to be beefed-up but I will find out. On hand I have a pair of soft cotton liner gloves and they fit well into the mitts. These will be used on my cold motorcycle riding days and snowshoe ventures. Get a pair for yourself.

I have never tried on a cold weather mitten that could compare. They are a bit funny looking but... Super warm; good to single digit temps, or lower if you're active, and roomy enough to wear a liner glove inside them for colder days. Also roomy enough to pull your thumb into the body of the mitt so you can make a fist and keep your hands that much warmer. Highly breathable; I snowboard and snowshoe and shovel with these and my hands rarely get sweaty, much less than any other gloves or mittens I've owned. Granted, I only use these in temperatures below freezing. (I have taken the liners out when its not that cold but the snow is still deep.) The backs are not waterproof, but I have had slush-ball fights with them and stayed dry. (I do use a leather treatment on the palms annually.) The gauntlet is super long and great for keeping the snow out. I did find the gauntlet cinch straps a little hard to pull tight until I cut off the little pull tabs on the metal tightening hardware(I highly recommend this alteration. The pull tabs take up too much space in the "buckle" and crowd the strap.). They might take a little bit to get used to, but I find that I have very good dexterity in them; I can zip up my jacket, even throw a frisbee. They have lasted for years of hard use, like ten years. They are starting to show their age but are not falling apart. I can't wait for it to start snowing so I can wear them again. They are like a comfy mummy sack for your hands. (I recently bought a second pair just in case they stop making them. I never want to go through a snowy winter without these mitts.)
