One of my new favorites
I've recently been experiencing more misses than hits from poor flavor profiles to bags being grossly underweight. This was a pleasant change up.Arriving in the classic cylindrical container, inside you will find a touch MORE than the 1oz serving. After transferring it to the container, the colors are not as vibrant and alive as some ceremonial teas I've had but no where as muted or dark as some others and especially as muted and dark as most culinary matcha teas.Using my standard mix and whisk, I was left with a very, deep, dark, earthy green tea and smelled good and tasted even better. Is it the best I've had? No, but it definitely leans towards better than worse. I do not like overly bitter, briny or too much "umami" which for many translates tasting like it came out of the sea. I prefer a very clean, slightly bitter matcha and this one fits the bill.As for the price, I've settled into a range. $15USD/oz for a middling Ceremonial and $7.5USD/oz for a decent culinary. This one is definitely better than the $15USD grade easily but $35 does get a little pricey. My favorite Ceremonial Matcha is ~$25USD/oz.This is a strong 4/5 and if it was priced around $25USD/oz or less it would be a 4.5 or even a 5.4/5

It's not bad but it's not great. This is not ceremonial grade in my opinion.
I'll keep this review short and sweet. There are subtle mentions across this product page that this is ceremonial grade green tea but I honestly don't think it is. The color upon opening the sealed can and bag was less vibrant than I have normally seen. When brewed it was not a bad tea but it had a bitterness and weird flavor that are not indicative of a quality matcha tea. I don't think it's horrible but it certainly doesn't justify its value. I don't mind drinking it but if I have another option I'll be reaching for that.Happy sipping!

No
Tasted no different than domatcha's second harvest matcha, which has a good quantity for the price. But for $30/ounce I would expect something without clumps and a dull dark color.Maybe it was old batch, because didn't taste like real ceremonial quality.

Incredible quality matcha. Very sweet and ultra-low bitterness.
DoMatcha's "Master's Choice" matcha is their highest grade - and the color and taste of this tea really reflects that. It is a beautifully vibrant and deep green. The taste is rich, complex, and full of deep umami sweetness. The ultra-low bitterness and high amounts of umami are indicative of the long shading time, which maximizes the theanine and amino acid content. This is truly a matcha suitable for a tea ceremony, and it stands out above the vast majority of the 30+ ceremonial grade matchas I have tried. This matcha is not organically grown, but that is actually a good thing, and necessary for producing the best tasting matcha possible. During the shading process, the tencha (matcha leaves) are deprived of nutrients, so to preserve the tea plant's health supplemental fertilizers are necessary. Conventional fertilizers just work better, and produce a much higher tea yield. As a result, conventional matcha is much less costly than organic, but more importantly - it just tastes better. I have tried dozens of organic and conventional matchas, and 9/10 times the conventional teas are better quality, even if they were much cheaper than the organic ones.Tasting Notes: Buttercream, wheatgrass juice, raw macadamia.Sweetness: 4/5Bitterness: 1/5Vegetal Notes: 3/5Side by side comparison:I performed a side-by-side comparison of DoMatcha's Master's Choice with their Organic Ceremonial Grade. The taste, aroma, and appearance of the Master's Choice are all much better. It is much sweeter, less bitter, and an even more vibrant green color. The organic ceremonial matcha is still very good, but the Master's Choice is probably twice as sweet, with only half the already very low level of bitterness.Brewing Instructions:Tea is an art, not a science. You can really play it by ear and adjust the strength to your taste. I like my water temperature around 165F or less if using preheated teaware. I use 3 large scoops from my bamboo chashaku per serving, which is somewhere around 2 grams of matcha. Ideally, you will use a sifter to prevent clumps, and a bamboo whisk. But in a pinch, no sifting and an electric whisk works fine. This matcha is ultra-low bitterness, so you can really use as much or little water as you want.Overall Thoughts:This is truly a top quality matcha. Incredibly sweet with deep umami and vegetal notes. This is one of the less bitter matchas I have tasted , and I have sampled quite a lot. This is a premium matcha - and it is meant for more than just gulping down for the health benefits. I recommend taking a few minutes of your day to slow down. Really meditate on the preparation, flavors, and the rich green beauty of the tea. Give it your full attention, and this tea can reward you with a wonderful experience.

Blends well, tastes good, has a nice and subtle alertness to it
While I am a bit newer to matcha, the more that I drink it and experiment/explore the options, the more that I am coming to really enjoy drinking it. Not only for the taste, which is very good and smooth for this kind, but also for the gradual awakening that seems to last a bit longer than coffee and also seems to help me avoid the crash. I enjoyed trying this out and I am contemplating getting some more when I run out.The flavor seems to be somewhat rich to me and I am getting a bit more used to it. It isn't tough to blend, it has a fairly good amount of froth (not too much, just right for me), and it doesn't take a ton for me to enjoy it. I am able to make quite a few beverages from this can because I don't seem to need as much caffeine, etc, and it makes it a good value for me.Pros:Blends wellLike the tasteNot chalky or bitterHelps wake me up without a big crashGood valueCons:It isn't my favorite so far but it is great

Makes great tea
I’ve been having a matcha oat milk latte everyday and it really helps me feel good. Nice boost in energy and mood without the jitters. I use about 1/2tsp and add some hot water and wisk it with an electric frother, then fill up the rest of the way with hot water, a bit of honey, and about the same amount of oat milk as you would use in coffee, stir and enjoy. Also taste great iced.

Not as nice as the regular ceremonial grade IMO
I have been an avid do matcha drinker for 10 yrs now. Thought to try this one over the usual do matcha grade as it was way cheaper. I didn’t really care for it but for the half the price thought I might get used to it. However the next time I went to buy it it was listed as more expensive than the usual ceremonial grade. Perhaps it was a listing glitch or something...It’s still a world of difference better than any of the sad excuses for matcha there are out there but I will stick to my usual ceremonial grade from now. In all my years as an herbalist, Do matcha brand is by far the best I’ve ever found and worth every penny for your health :)
