Clear DysphagiAide Thickener, Level 2 Mildly Thick (Nectar-Like) Single Serving Packets, 24 Count

I purchased Clear Dysphagi Aide Instant Beverage and Food Thickener for my mother. She has used it for a couple of weeks now and is happy with it. She has used it in a variety of liquids including milk (no curdling), juices, coffee, and water. There was no smell, change to the taste or color of the liquids, and it dissolves easily. She said she was able to thicken milk to the consistency of a milk shake using Clear Dysphagi Aide Instant Beverage and Food Thickener. I purchased the 24-count box in case she wouldn't try the product. The 200-count box is overall more cost effective by 0.39 cents per packet, but only if the product is being used. Since my mother likes the product and is willing to use it, I will purchase Clear Dysphagi Aide Instant Beverage and Food Thickener 200-count boxes.

It is a very helpful item for home health patients.

It’s perfect to add to water. Or any thing. I even added to coffee. There is no taste. And yes I tried it :-) . The trick is you HAVE to add the powder to a dry cup and while you are pouring liquid you MUST be wiping vigorously. If not, you will get clumps. I would make up a 1/2 gallon of thickened water and coffee and keep in the refrigerator for mom as needed. It’s a staple now.

These are xanthan gum in a powder form. They work and taste fine--but take 10 minutes to thicken up in some liquids. They are a lot cheaper than SimplyThick (also xanthan gum based, but in a gel). That just takes 30 seconds, but you pay for the convenience. So it's a tradeoff. I ended up buying a pump bottle version of SimplyThick that works well. I would avoid anything not based on xanthan gum (such as cornstarch).

This works well for a liquid diet that needs a slight thickener. Love that they are individual pouches, this makes portions easy when traveling.

Taste makes me think of baking powder. Doesn't dissolve easily. Doctor suggested I use it in every beverage, even coffee. No way that is happening.

I have used Dysphagia since it became available. Much better and quicker to dissolve than other brands I've used. I've used it in water, coffee, tea, milk, even carbonated beverages and wine and spirits. Works well in everything I've tried. The small packs are great for going out to a restaurant or party but the value is in buying larger quantities that are not individually packaged.

Worked great as intended. Slightly thickened water relieved the choking & has no taste or smell.

The thickener is palatable and easy to swallow without any choking.

Wish I’d researched before I purchased. Although thickened liquid, Maltodextrin isn’t good for diabetics! Wondered why my mums sugar levels became high! Plus, not good if you’re losing weight

However, you need to stir aggressively for all the lumps to dissolve. Also the packets are only for 4oz which is way too little. We have to use multiple every time.
