JOHNNY B. Mode Professional Hair Styling Gel

This gel does its job, and has very good hold. It is not sticky, or crunchy when dry, and washes out well.But as some of the reviews have stated. It does have a strong scent. It smells very much like some variety of men’s cologne. It does not smell bad. But since I bought this for my two very young grandsons, I feel the scent is a bit overwhelming for their age. I’m still going to give it five stars, just be aware of the scent if you’re using it for your little ones.

My husband is hooked on this Johnny B Mode gel and honestly I get why. It smells really fresh, like clean not cologne-y, and I always notice it in a good way when he uses it. The hold is awesome too. It keeps his hair in place all day but doesn’t make it look stiff or crunchy. His hair still feels soft, like there’s nothing in it, and there’s no flaking or weird residue at all. He’s got pretty thick hair and this stuff handles it no problem without making it look greasy or weighed down. He also likes that it rinses out easily and doesn’t build up over time.I will say it’s a bit pricier than some of the drugstore gels but he swears it’s worth it. We’ve tried cheaper ones that either flake, don’t hold, or smell funky and this one just does it all right. He uses it every day and it’s become his go-to so we just keep buying it. If you want a gel that smells great, works really well, and doesn’t mess up your hair this one’s definitely a solid choice even if it’s a little more than you’d usually spend.

I have been using Johnny B gel for my hair for years! It is my go-to product because of its thickness, and long-lasting hold when I get my hair cut short. Works great especially when you combine it with using a handheld hair dryer and combing it in simultaneously. I love the huge jar it came in, and that the lid closes very tightly, keeping the gel fresh without it drying out and hardening over time. It smells great too!

We’ve been using Johnny B Mode Gel for a couple of years now, and it continues to be a staple in our home. It was originally recommended by our barber, and we’ve been loyal ever since. The hold is fantastic—it works equally well in my son’s thin hair and my husband’s thick hair, which is a rare find in a styling product.The only downside is the bright blue color. One of my boys has blonde hair, and if I use more than just a tiny bit, it can leave a slight blue tint. I really wish the brand would tone that down or offer a clear version.Other than that, it’s perfect. The hold lasts all day, it doesn’t flake, and it washes out easily. Highly recommend—just go light on blonde hair!

Really like this gel for our son’s hair. It’s light but holds and has a nice scent.

By far this is the best gel out there and the smell is so good like fresh and clean
