Works great in lake
This divice works great. I'm using it to drain my 12 acre lake. When the depth reached 5 foot, I found starting the siphon from a boat while using a pump was impossible. I used this as a check valve while plugging the drain end. Placed a T at highest point on dam. Filled piped and used clean out plug to hold pipe air tight. Removed drain end and siphon is pulling the remaining water.

Not 100% Seal
Installed this in the Summer. Yesterday was a true test because I got about 2-3 inches of rain. This did not seal completely 100% and let sewage water through. Luckily, I still have a test plug on hand to block the sewage water that was rising up in the shower pan. Disapointing!

Anti-Backflow Drain Valve
This was EXACTLY what I needed for a crawlspace drainage problem. My house's crawlspace drain connects to the gutter downspout drains which are routed via corrugated hose/pipe to the street. Water in the downspout drains was backing up into the crawlspace. I used this valve, some PVC pipe, and Great-Stuff urethane sealant to correct the problem. Water no longer enters my house's crawlspace through the downspout drain lines but I still have the ability to drain the crawlspace should a water line burst.I would buy this again.
