Tried to remove a screw in a confined space, twisting motion . It did not work well for that job, but worked vary well for an other job.

I've been using this style of vice grips/Clamps for over 15 years. I'll never buy the old paddle style finger pinchers again. If you're wondering about durability, I've been using my quick release finger clamps at work, for machine fabrication, almost everyday. My first pair works as well as the day I bought them. No matter how tight you clamp them they still open with a flick of your fingers.

Tried every tool I had and then bought these to replace the nearly impossible to grab and maneuver emergency brake springs on a car I am restoring. Had them put back on in two minutes with these.

Athough a reasonable value for the cost, Irwin/ViseGrip, now made in China, just ain't what it used to be. My biggest problem with it is that the jaws don't line up nicely. They are somewhat askew, and if you want them to meet squarely, you actually have to do a little manual manipulation as the jaws close. Furthermore, when I received it the jaws didn't even close all the way because the wire cutting section stopped them from closing fully. I actually had to file down the anvil side of the wire cutter for the jaws to meet at all. I guess you shouldn't expect more from slave/prison labor on the Mainland! Before I ordered these I bought (also Amazon) an even cheaper clone. It was so bad, in most every conceivable aspect, that it was essentially useless, and I returned it. I guess someone out there makes a serious/precision long-nose locking pliers, perhaps from Germany or Switzerland (but certainly not from U.S., the land of little manufacturing), but undoubtedly one would have to pay a big premium for it. I'll live with this compromise.

Fantastic, great size for appliance work. they will fit into tight spots better than the short jaw version.You can still tighten and remove fill hose fittings with them.The jaws work the best on wire hose clamps and you can crimp off a hose with them in a pinch.well built and can fill many job needs for years to come!

I bought these as a replacement for a cheap pair of vice grips that had broken. These Irwin ones are of very good quality, and are robust. They feel good to use, and have a very positive and smooth locking and unlocking action. I would recommend these, it is worth paying a few pounds more than you would for a poor quality item.

I use this everyday for work. Locks pretty well and releases easily without hurting your fingers. The rubber grip is awesome.

Jaws not aligning when locked, lower jaw wobble about 2mm either side. There is a 1.5mm gap on the wire cutter when both jaws are close. I think this is qc issues See pictures
