Great Product for Removing Chlorine From Your Aquarium
I was originally using Seachem Prime to treat my aquarium water and then reading some forums I discovered Safe and decided to do some research on this. It's essentially the same product as Prime just in dry powdered form and more concentrated so you save money in the long run. This product should last me years even with weekly water changes. I have a 30 gallon tank so whenever I do a water change I usually siphon out about 15% of my water. I then put the dose of Safe into my tank as my bucket isn't very large. If you are changing water in a larger tank, you can also treat each individual bucket as you want but I find it easier to just dose the entire tank and then start adding in the new water after making sure it is the same temperature as the water in my tank. This is especially true if you are using a siphon that hooks up to your sink or hose for quick water changes. I follow the instructions from Seachem's website: Directions for all other sizes (this is different if you buy the 50g or 100g sizes!) Use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 gallons) for ammonia. Since my tank is only 30 gallons I use (1/10) of that dose to treat the entire tank. That ends up being 1/40 of a teaspoon so I had to buy some smaller measuring spoons. I use 1/32 of a teaspoon and have seen no ill effects with using this slightly higher dose as you would be using more for ammonia anyways. I've been using Prime for years and now been using Safe for over a month and have had no issues with my fish and chlorine and they seem very happy and healthy. You can also double or triple this dose in an emergency if you and need to quickly detoxify nitrites and nitrates.

Tip: Mentally prepare yourself for strong egg smell when first opening bottle 😂
DON’T SNIFF IT WHEN FIRST OPENED, I ALMOST DIED 😂. Other than that it works great, I had to open a window because half the room smelled like concentrated eggs. (I’m scared to opened it again in a couple months lol.)

Stinks (literally) but works wonders
I've always used Seachem Prime which is a must have for anyone with an aquarium. This product just ousted Seachem Prime in my opinion. Why? Seachem Safe is crazy cost effective. Just a small bit goes a long way. This bottle will probably last me for the rest of my aquarium keeping life time. Of course not if you keep a dozen 120G tanks and change water every week but for any regular home tank, it would take decades to use this bottle. I wish it came in even smaller sizes given how little you need each time. I also wish it came with measuring spoons for 10/20/50 gallons. I hope Seachem reads this! This is what you should supply with Seachem Safe. Won't take a star off for this though as the value proposition is absolutely 5 stars. Not sure why Amazon asked me to rate "sheerness" and "thickness" though, sorry had to give it 1 star for that. Amazon, you need to have a "not applicable" option, really. Pro-tip: If you have small 5g/10g tanks, it's almost impossible to measure the right amount, all you need is literally a pinch so stick with Prime. If you do have small tanks, google "micro measuring spoons" and get those sets with 1/32 & 1/64 teaspoon sizes.

Smelly, but very effective.
I am a teacher with a 55 gallon saltwater tank that is still trying to reach that nitrogen cycle. I wish I knew how it smelled. I spent the entire day explaining to my high school students every class period that the smell was neither me nor the tank but something I added to the tank. Next time I’ll add this at the end of the day. By the way, it works.

Same as prime but powered form.
same as prime, but powdered form. I try to research a lot and talk to people in the industry and so far everybody’s pretty much saying this and it goes a long way compared to prime. You can use up to four times the amount to help with water quality if fallen behind on care. Sometimes happens to the best of us.

Great value- a little hard to figure out dosing
I started out in the fishkeeping hobby using Stress Coat. For reasons of economy and effectiveness, I switched to Seachem's Prime, a much more concentrated product. Safe is the concentrated form of Prime. The jar I bought will treat up to 50,000 gallons of water. That might sound like a lot, but if you have multiple tanks like I do, you can go through it quicker than you think. Safe is easy to use and it seems to be very effective. The price may seem a bit high compared to a comparable size bottle of other water treatment, but when you look at the cost/gallon, there is no comparison, Prime wins hands down over any of the liquids I looked at and Safe is even more cost effective than Prime. The only negatives about using Safe versus Prime was trying to figure out the dosing and then finding a measure small enough to measure it. Prime came with pretty straight forward instructions. Safe's dosing is based on how much chlorine, chloramine and/or ammonia is in your water. I just treat for an "average" amount of chloramine and that seems to work out pretty well. Seachem's technical support is amazing. If you can't find the answer to your problem in the forums, just write to them and they are extremely responsive. I bought a large size of this product. For some reason, Seachem thinks if you buy the large size you don't need a dosing spoon and doesn't include one. However, I wrote to them and they sent a spoon to me, no charge. I treat for the full tank volume whenever I make a water change. I use one "measure" (the spoon they sent) per 20 gallons.

For my 8.5-gallon Tank, won't be needing another conditioner for a very long time!
I got a 30 liters (8.5 ish Gallon) Betta fish tank. According to Seachem dosage instructions, I would need roughly around 30 mg of powder (0.02-0.03 ml). As the dose is too small, I ended up using a LEGO antenna as my "micro measuring spoon" (Antenna Whip 8H). I used an online calculator to calculate the amount of volume of the antenna base (diameter and depth = approximately 4.8 x1.2 mm) and It turns out roughly over 0.02 ml. Which is a close amount to the dose required for my tank (I think!). I already used it few times for my weekly water change, and all seems to be going well so far. However, if you do try this, please monitor your fish for the next few hours for any unusual behaviour just to be safe. Looks like I won't need to buy any other bottle of water conditioner for a very very long time! As shown in the photo, I heated up the antenna with a lighter and bent it to make it easier to scoop the powder. Just push it in and move it till it hits the side of the bottle to make sure it fills up the base properly. I tried to scoop as you would normally do with a spoon, but it just didn't fill up completely.

Great value but smells like a wastewater treatment plant on a humid, hot day
Imagine a thousand flatulent pugs engorged on a feast of boiled cabbage, hard-boiled eggs and Fiber One bars. Then take the odor you are imagining and dial it up to 11. Good thing we love our fish. Incredible value and highly effective product.

Extremely Concentrated
This product is meant for large tanks, and ponds but I purchased it for my water change buckets. The fact that I have to measure out between 0.02 - 0.05 of a gram for 5 gallons of water is tricky. It's not terribly hard mind you, plus it's going to last a very long time. Now to the downside of this product. If you thought Seachem Prime was stinky, you're in for a shock with Safe. It has a stench like none other. The sulphur smell filled my home as soon as I cracked the seal. It's kind of like onions and sulphur mixed, and it's very potent, (think of "The Big Of Eternal Stench". I closed the container tightly, but could still smell the eye watering odor escaping the bottle. I proceeded to put the bottle inside of a tall yogurt container, and wouldn't you know it, the stench was escaping that container as well. I may just have to store it out on my back porch, since the smell is escaping both the original container and the one I put it in. It's definitely concentrated and potent as can be. Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent product, it just stinks to hight heaven. I do recommend it, and who knows, you just might get used to the smell! :-D

Brilliant stuff
Always used prime and the stuff is great but seen this was a more concentrated version so it last sooooo much longer! I purchased a set of spice spoons to make the Mesurements accurate and easy peasy. I'm not going to take a star off as the product is really cheap for how long it lasts and does what it supposed to but my good god it f&%@£#g stinks lol.
