Amazon Basics Single Door Folding Metal Dog or Pet Crate Kennel with Tray, 24 x 18 x 20 Inches

April 7, 2019I like the first cage so much that I came back to buy a second. The first cage I bought was the 24" cage with a single door. Although the cage is great, it's a little difficult to reach all the way in to clean. This second cage that I bought is the same 24" but with the double door. I like the flexibility the second door provides and for just a couple more bucks, it is well worth the cost.The cage arrived quickly in a flat box. Once I removed it from the box, it was very easy to set up. Basically just unfold and snap the clips over the wire frame in four locations. It came with a partition that I have no need for so I didn't install it in the cage.Our chihuahua loves his new cage and has plenty of room to stretch out if he wants to.Good quality cage at a good value. Highly recommend.Original review for the 24" single door:The cage has a good weight and gauge construction. It sets up fairly easily but I recommend wearing gloves to avoid pinching your fingers. It came with a divider that can be used to decrease the portion of the cage that is used. Since it doesn't have a second door, it cannot be divided in two. However, for what it is, it is very good. The tray on the bottom is adequate to contain any mishaps. Overall, a nice cage that I would buy again.

I owned a crate already and wanted to get a second crate because my pup spends her days upstairs but sleeps in our bedroom. My first crate is Midwest brand and I bought this one because it was half the price. It's easy to see why -- on the Midwest crate, the doors are removable, the locks slide in and out easily and the metal edges are properly ground down and painted so you don't hit any snags if you run your hands along them. The Amazon crate was difficult to assemble, the door is not removable and the locks are very difficult to slide in and out. In fact, we only use the top lock because it's such a massive pain. I'm keeping the crate because it's ok enough for my purposes but if you're comparing this with more expensive brands, I would shell out the extra money for quality.EDIT: I cut my finger shutting the door the other night. Still keeping the crate at this point but am dropping my review from 3 stars down to 2.

I ordered this carrier to give my (15lb) cat some space on a cross-country move. It has enough height for him to sit or stand comfortably, turn around, and generally make himself comfortable—which made ME a lot more comfortable on the drive. Assembly is quick and easy and I love that it folds up for efficient storage. As someone who has cleaned up after pets that peed or pooped in the car mid-transit, I also like the plastic tray in the bottom that protects whatever the cage is sitting on in case of unfortunate accidents. Sure the hard surface isn’t comfortable on its own, but it’s easy enough to put in some blankets or towels. Really happy with this buy.

This is my second time buying the 24 inch kennel (first one I gave to a friend after I didn't need it anymore) This kennel is so easy to assemble and collapse to take with you. My 5 month old chihuahua loves it. I bought it to help in potty training and now that she's trained I still keep it up in my bedroom. I have 3 chihuahuas and theres been many times that I've found all 3 snuggled together in it. This kennel is sturdy, easy to assemble and my dogs love it.

I purchased this crate to keep my kitty safe and comfortable while moving across country. It's big enough to put the disposable litter box I purchased in it while still leaving room for my cat. The crate arrived flat and it was very easy to snap it all together, not so easy to put back flat though. The pan on the bottom slides in and out easily so it makes it very easy to clean. I occasionally have issues getting the top latch to open and I have to jiggle it a bit before it will release. The overall construction is very sturdy and high quality, it's exactly what you find for twice the price at the pet store. I've been quite pleased with every Amazon Basics product I've purchased.

I just opened the box tonight and couldn't figure out how to OPEN the kennel! The instructions were inside the kennel (that I couldn't open). Luckily, there's a video above, which was very helpful. The only thing I can complain about, and it has nothing to do with the product, is that if you have arthritis in your fingers, you'll have a very hard time with this. The clips are tight.I put the cat's food dish inside, and he tried to get to the food any way possible without going inside. He finally relented but kept one foot outside the kennel! I think it's going to work well for my purpose, which is to transport him across the country in the car.

Just as pictured (once you get it up). It was a little hard putting up vs other collapsible cages that I have gotten. The directions aren’t the best, but overall it’s a nice cage. My little shitzu bishon is our in there for “time out” and the small is big enough for her to stay in there for 30 mins or so. I also put padding at the bottom of the cage for more comfort. Not sure what to do with the handle, as it kept slipping off the top of the cage. Overall a nice cage once it’s put up & is sturdy - my dog likes to bite everything & it hasn’t shown any signs of it. Nice for a small apartment!

This is a great little cage, which we used for our kitten (she has some digestive problems). Now she's outgrown the cage, & we need another one. But we found better deals elsewhere. I will say that the divider in this cage makes a great shelf or "bunk," like a kitten loft -- which she LOVES. Just wish we'd gotten a bigger size! We thought our kitten wasn't going to get any bigger.Bonus: this cage is extremely easy to assemble, disassemble, and carry. If I ever need to take my cats on a road trip, they'll both fit comfortably in it without the "loft."

This cage is a great deal, especially if you get the additional prime discount (thank you, free trial) It was not super easy to set up, partly because the instructions were placed inside the folded cage and i could not get them out until i assembled the cage, it mostly just involved some twisting and muscling the sides into their little notches and was not at all hard to figure out. The additional divider is a bit useless unless you have a very tiny puppy or teacup sized dog, but better to have it and not need it than the other way around. Everything seems sturdy and functional, its easy to remove and clean the tray. My only issue is that the door is on rather tightly so it doesn't swing freely, but it may loosen up over time and does prevent it from opening on it's own.The size small is a 24" model, a good size for any toy breed or puppy. Easy to fit a small dog bed inside but not much else, just a blanket/towel would leave more room to move around. My large pug is very satisfied, though it's not exactly an active breed, and goes in this crate on his own quite often (he may not look it, but thats a happy face)

We had a soft cage and my Frenchie ripped it and got out , we had a solid plastic crate she hated it, bought this one and no she hasn’t even tried to get out (doubt she could) she sees to actually like this one. The size is perfect, I put a regular pillow in a garbage bags then put that in a pillow case fits wall to wall ...she’s comfortable , plus easy to wash and change pillow cases (for freshness) loving this crate ❤️

We looked at several different sizes of crates for our dog at the local pet store before deciding to order the 24" Size from Amazon.I was apprehensive ordering online thinking the quality might not be the same since the price was significantly lower but low and behold this crate is AWESOME!It's well made, nicely designed and easy to setup and fold down. It's study and holds our cockapoo comfortably and securely. I ordered a Furhaven Kennel Pad (also from Amazon) and the combination works great.Even though this crate is easy to fold up for travel we decided to purchase a second crate to keep at the lake so now we have two.Save yourself some money and Get This One .... Highly Recommend!
