Good, clean kidney beans at a good price. So far, I've found no stones, sand or other contaminants.I found that soaking these beans overnight (8 to 12 hours)was sufficient, providing that they are covered by two or more inches of water.I cook them in my microwave. Place the beans in a covered dish with sufficient water to cover them by an inch or more. Start them on the highest setting until the water nears or reaches boiling. Watch them carefully as they get hot to avoid having them boil over. Reduce the setting to "defrost" for one and a half hour or the beans are tender.Once cooked, they can be used in many dishes or eaten plain with salt and spices. Very handy to keep cooked beans around for a few days for quick snacks or to add to other preparations.

I use these to make refried beans, chili, and various soups with beans. These have good flavor and a lovely color.

Worth the money. I found that the beans needed to soak in a large amount of water for over 24 hours. If you try to cheat the process you'll end up with hard and unfinished beans. Cooking times depend on where you live but I found that after soaking if you bring the beans to a boil (no salt) and then let them simmer for an hour or more then you'll end up with some tasty beans! Add seasoning before cooking.

We eat red beans every Mondays, a tradition that has been pasted down for generations. Buying in bulk we don't have to buy read beans as often and these really taste good. I will buy this again.

These beans are a delicious and versatile variety. They arrived quickly, the quality is excellent, the price is the best I've found, and they come right to your door. What's not to love!?

I haven't tasted the beans yet, but after weighing them out and vacuum sealing them in 1 pound bags, I got 24.375 pounds of beans, that is without the weight of the bags. The bag they came in weighed 5 oz, (.312 lb). I'm surprized, usually farmer and people that do the bagging and distribution are a little more generous than that. And meijer sells them for $1.79 a pound. I have enough to last a few years if I don't sell them to friends and family. So I kept the rating a little higher than I was going too.
