Felt like two separate authors
I was truly enjoying Loke and his little Amazon. Other reviewers have mentioned Loke's sweetness and sensitivity quite adequately. I mean a truly hot, noble dragon. The little Amazon was believable too. Until chapter 17.***spoiler alert***After standing up to the dragon king and an entire village of dragons bent on rape and/or murder and watching Loke nearly die fighting to win her, our little Amazon turned into a mute statue when her commander authorizes a demon to beat the crap out of her love then imprison him. Not a single word? Really? I know the author needed a way to set up the next books, but come on. Not even a whimper? Not even when she saw him in the cell knowing what was planned for him? There had to be a better way to introduce a dazzling array of new characters other than such an extreme left turn. It just felt like another author stepped in without reading the first half of the book. Sorry, I just can't get passed that one. Maybe I'll come back and finish it another time but for now...I feel just as angry and betrayed as Loke.

Excellent!!
I have some of the other books in this series, but for some reason the blurb for this one drew me in and I had to read it. I enjoyed it immensely, and had no problem following the plot even without reading the previous books, although their were several appearances by the previous main characters, it still works as a standalone. This book has everything that makes a paranormal romance great, and I definitely plan to read all of the series, and I highly recommend that y'all do the same. Mature eyes only due to hot 🔥shifter loving!!!

Could have been so much better!
I enjoyed this read. I'm giving it three stars because I think the author gave up on it. Had she not, it would have been a great read. I think she tired of developing the characters more thoroughly, particularly Anais. She also seemed to have tired of the stunning Dragon she created. Loke so very poignantly described himself as both man and dragon."He carefully landed on the broad deep ledge of his cave and furled his wings..." Here, I wish Heaton would have gone all out and given us... "'The Dragon"! Its ferocity and its docility. I would love to have heard her describe Loke tilting his dragon head to one side and with one glorious blue eye, take in all of Anais. For him to purr softly and open his mouth and exhale a soft puff of flame. Hah. To have described him unfurling his wings to their full extent, raring on his hind legs showing off his beautiful, vulnerable underbelly. "See me Anais!" To have had him push off the ledge and display for her his magnificent wing span. To fly! and soar; to plunge and spin; to display for her what Dragons can really do. (She has never seen this after all) Only to land softly back on the ledge, rear his head back with a roar and... blow fire. So much could have been done here. His dragon preening for Anais could have been heart stopping... and panty dropping. The love scenes in this book will give you that, however. That panty dropping sigh that romance readers love so much, Heaton does a delicious job with this. Some of this story gets jumbled from time to time. For instance, how does Sable even know that her Huntresses are spoils of war? Particularly when she's seen one drained of her life right in front of her. What would make her think that she needs to go deep into Hell and search for survivors of her team who may or may not exist? How did she and Thorne find the Huntresses when Loke could not? I could go on and on here but honestly when I think about it, I end up shaking my head and too disgusted to think on it further.Heaton also failed at introducing new characters. I did purchase Harbin's story but honestly, I purchased it before I read Loke's story. The way he was introduced makes me wonder if I really want to read it. I read the first couple of paragraphs and stopped.I find Heaton's war scenes to be disconcerting, too. At one point there is a gigantic raging battle, yet, in the midst of it all, the central characters can stop and have conversation about where is Waldo?? (figuratively) I mean, really?? I'm reading and wondering, "who's fighting here?" Heads are rolling, blood is spurting everywhere, swords arcing barely missing them, demons disappearing and reappearing at will any where, shifty vampires who might turn on you in a wink, and we can find a respite in the middle of all this madness to talk? Not yell or shout above the roar of battle but, "Hey buddy. Have you seen Waldo?" No. Just, no.I have read four of her novels. If I can get through Marked by an Assasin, I'm sure it will be my last.So I'm giving four and a half stars for Loke and Anais but three for Felicity.

Extra 100 pages make a huge difference
Felicity Heaton's out-of-the-box approach to shifters never ceases to amaze, and dragons, the most recent addition to the ETERNAL MATES series, were indeed the stuff made of legends. I loved how the author molded accepted characteristics into supernatural marvels, and the plot was so full bodied that I couldn't even haphazard a guess as to the direction the future installments will take. I'm crossing my fingers for Bleu, but Taryn, Harbin, Emelia, Hartt, Fuery & Ren are all vying for my attention as well, ergo my darling Elf may just have to continue with his walk-on stints for a little while longer.I've only read one set of novels that featured dragon shifters, and it was Young Adult, so I was looking forward to seeing what Paranormal Romance would have to offer as far as this fabled beast was concerned. I felt like a kid in a candy store with all of the new lore that Heaton infused this universe with. The breathing fire was a given, but the heat and healing aspects were not, nor were the prophetic visions, limitations on travelling between the realms because of witch-y interference, and the treasure hoarding amused me to no end. This book was an absolute riot from the opening chapter!Loke was a magnificent character; I enjoyed everything about him. He's lived such a simple life, and has for the most part cut himself off from dragon society because after six thousand years of existence, he's grown tired of their frivolous ways. He saved one of his enemies from the battlefield after predicting her death which was an odd move, but it also played on every woman's fantasy. *fans self* Anais' unshakable faith in Archangel, questionable survival instincts, and overall naiveté had me second guessing her decisions; however she didn't make the same mistake twice, so no harm no foul. This installment had an abundance of action and romance which served as a reminder that even though I liked the previous two novellas, those extra one hundred pages make a huge difference. I thought that the author solved the dragon mortal realm banishment and mating predicaments adeptly, and the latter even lead to some light bondage which I'm never opposed to, especially when it's the male who's getting tied up. Loren, Thorne, Kyter, Cavanaugh & Bleu (have to save the best for last!) admirers will be contended with book 7 because they all turn up, although you might feel conflicted after meeting Loke.TAKEN BY A DRAGON is a double entendre kind of title which means that Anais was a very lucky girl! ~4.5 stars

Another Fantastic Paranormal Romance!
This is the seventh book in the Eternal Mates series. I loved it!Anais is a wonderful character. She is a human warrior, working along side Sable at Archangel, a type of paranormal police/research agency in the mortal realm. I liked her feisty attitude, though felt that she took chances that were extremely dangerous. I was first introduced to her on the battlefield in the second book in the series, Claimed by a Demon King. However, she was only a secondary character at the time. I am glad to now to have the opportunity to get to know her better.Loke is a dragon shifter. I loved this sexy man! He has all the traits of an alpha male - protective, loving and possessive. However, I also found him to be incredibly sweet. He may be a dragon, but he has a sensitivity which made me melt!I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book. The story is told through the view points of Anais and Loke. Their story hooked me from the first page, and didn't let me go until I had finished it. The heat factor between these two characters is just as steamy as the other characters in this series. I love their stubborn butting of heads, which I found quite entertaining. I was also quite amused by Loke's disdain of a female dragon and her attempts at seduction; it made me giggle, though the situation was anything but funny. There are no battle scenes as such, but there is a fight scene between Loke and two other dragons which is just as intense; and another one in Underworld which I found quite funny, as I could picture the fracas quite easily. This is one of the things I love about the author - her ability to build believable paranormal worlds, and her descriptive ability to bring a reader into it. I felt like I was there, amongst the action, smelling the dust and sweat, and hearing the clash of weapons and fists. We get to meet the other characters in the series again - Prince Loren, King Thorne, Sable, Kyter and Cavanaugh, just to name a few. We are also introduced to new characters. An angel who has no name, but is of the Echelon (whatever that means!). I am now wondering what his story will be? I can hardly wait to find out! And Cavanaugh's brother, Harbin, makes an appearance! All this testosterone is enough to get any red blooded female's hormones racing!*Minor spoiler*The end of the book has a bit of kink in it, but it's not full out BDSM, only bondage. However, this is in keeping with the story and makes for an unforgettable ending. I am now looking forward to reading the next book in the series!Felicity Heaton has written another fast paced, sexy paranormal romance that I thoroughly enjoyed! I love her writing style, which flows effortlessly from scene to scene. She is number one on my favourite authors list!I do not recommend this book to younger readers due to the extremely HOT and explicit sexual scenes. However, I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love sexy paranormal romances full of vampires, elves, werewolves, cat shifters, succubi, incubi, angels, dragons and demons. - Lynn Worton

Masterclass in perfection
I am completely hooked on this series and have LOVED every book so far, so I had high expectations of this book and I was not disappointed. Heaton again delivers a master class in how to grab a readers attention and hold it, with sexy, hot characters, smouldering chemistry, lands of mystery and magic, enemies whose arses you want to kick, romance, action, and hints of upcoming storylines, what else do you need? I have to say I didn't think anyone could beat Thorne in the beefcake stakes, but I fell a little in love with Loke, not only was he a big, dominating, protective male walking around like sex on legs, but he was so honourable too. Anais was one lucky lady in more ways than one, he not only took her to save her life but he protected her and fought for her and tried to make her as comfortable as he could, who wouldn't fall for a guy like that? His loneliness was palpable, I ached for him at times, especially when he was so afraid that Anais would leave, there was just so much emotion in this book that I really didn't want it to end. I loved the two of them together, they were just so right! I also enjoyed our small glimpse of the newest player in town, the big badass angel, can't wait for that story. Even after 7 books It feels like this series is still only just warming up, I can't wait to see where Heaton takes it next.

Love those dragons :)
I've read all the books in this series so far and was greatly looking forward to this one. It didn't disappoint.Even though I'm a big paranormal fan, I haven't read about dragon shifters before so was intrigued to how this would play out. Holy hotness! Dragons are now my new favourite. I loved Loke's character. He was a typical alpha male but also endearingly sweet and old fashioned at the same time.Anais was also great. She is strong and fiesty. I love this about Felicity Heaton's female leads. They are always strong and well able to take care of themselves.Their attraction was hot but there was plenty of romance and emotion there too.We caught up with some past characters from the series and were given some clues to how the series would continue. This book is shorter than some of the others in the series but still packs in plenty of action and a good interesting plot. The writing is flawless as always.I enjoyed this a lot. I read it in one sitting and can't wait for the next instalment in this great addictive series.

Love Paranormal Romance?
I have read all of this authors books and loved everyone of them! Totally recommend if you love Alfa Males falling in love with strong minded Alfa Females. Taken by a Dragon (Eternal Mates Paranormal Romance Series Book 7) has got to be my favourite so far, Felicity has really exceeded herself on this story! This is an intense love affair, that develops between Loke a blue dragon and Human warrior Anais and how the dangers of his realm is a ticking time bomb to her destruction and how far he will go to save her from the future he keeps witnessing. Does Anais resist the fierce attraction that burns between them as hot as fire and stay true to Archangel or will her heart be taken by the dragon?Loke, a dragon shifter is driven by a vision and instant attraction to a Human warrior, so much so that, he snatches Anais, from the midst of the battle between the Third and Fifth realm of the demons. He flies her to his home deep in the black mountains of Hell with the intention of protecting her. When she wakes up, he finds she’s anything but grateful, and to his shock he realises that she might be his fated female.Anais wakes up in a strange cave, and immediately locks eyes with a handsome blue haired warrior. Then she remembers where she saw him last - as the enemy, in the heat of the demon realm battle and that he took her captive. Thoughts of how to escape and return to Archangel, the hunter organisation she works for, sounds less than appealing when he reveals the reason he took her— to stop her from dying.Totally recommend this book and the entire Paranormal Romance Books in the Eternal Mates Series:-Book 1: Kissed by a Dark PrinceBook 2: Claimed by a Demon KingBook 3: Tempted by a Rogue PrinceBook 4: Hunted by a JaguarBook 5: Craved by an AlphaBook 6: Bitten by a HellcatBook 7: Taken by a DragonComing in June this year, Book 8: Marked by an Assassin - Can't wait!!!

Blazing Hot Dragon Romance!
This was by far my favourite book of the 4 that were recently released by Felicity.I've never read a book about Dragons, I don't know why, Dragons just never appealed to me but as I love all Felicity Heaton's books there was no way I wasn't going to read this one and OMG am I glad that I didLoke one vey handsome Alpha Dragon Shifter, a very astute sexy blue Dragon and even in mortal form has blue hair and wears blue leather trousers, he is rather Yummy. Loke is a very lonely Dragon and he is plagued with Visions, one major vision he keeps getting is one that involves Anais, an Archangel employee, a Female Warrior Fighter who is in the middle of a huge battle, Anais may not have any super powers like some of the other warriors but don't underestimate her and her fighting skills.Loke has been having numerous visions about Anais & her impending death, this plagues him so much that he can't let these visions come to fruition so decides to capture her and take her to his abode, not to harm her in any way, just to protect her, Loke lives in a Cave and living there so long he has a very lonely life, he has vey basic amenities, nothing at all like the human world, also as he's been living in a cave so long has made him very caveman -ish, has absolutely no idea about Females, but reading this and watching it pan out lead to one extremely engaging read, but as I said he's not taken her to hurt her, just to protect her from his visions, Anais doesn't know why Loke has taken her and in the middle of a battle, obviously she is on high alert as to what Loke wants and will do with her. Anais will do all she can to get away from him, she is one very feisty warrior and will do everything in her power to escape. It's a long Rocky road, and we find that Anais is actually Loke's Fated Mate, which makes this book extremely enjoyable read. This Is definitely a favourite of mine, I Loved Loke and And the chemistry between them, it was a really Sweet, Sexy Love Story packed with lots of action, plenty of Sexual tension a few chuckles at Loke's caveman attitude and amazing detailing as always, Felicity always gives great detailing, and definitely always more with each book she writes.I definitely recommend this one, I'm giving it 5 stars I thoroughly enjoyed it, an unputdownable read, my favourite.I did receive an arc copy for an honest review.
