I absolutely love this series.
Awesome to finally see these in widescreen, but ass mentioned, they do crop the top and bottom of the frames. Regardless, it looks better compared to the dvds (especially the quality). My only issue, as I noticed others also mention, was the 4th movie: mine is totally jacked up. The first half hour is fine, and then the images just fracture.

Fun movies
I loved these growing up. Unfortunately mine was shipped with a torn up box and 3 cases crushed. At least the discs were not broken or scratched.

Mixed feelings
Is it worth it to upgrade your entire collection from the DVDs? Consider that a majority of these films were released direct to VHS in full frame format, so to get them all in widescreen you’re actually losing the top and bottom of the images, but of course it does pop more when filling your widescreen tv rather than having black bars on the sides. While the covers of each individual disc have been redesigned to all look like they come from the same set, the back covers are rather blurry and seriously look like photocopies of the artwork and text layout from the original single Blu-ray releases. But my biggest disappointment is that both the original Puppet Master and Retro Puppet Master are still only the rated cuts, not the unrated, uncut versions. The only way I know of to get that extra 1 minute in Puppet Master is to buy the budget “3D” release that wasn’t even put out by Full Moon. Despite the back of that release giving a running time of 75 minutes, it’s actually 1 minute longer than the Full Moon 90-minute release. As for Retro Puppet Master, the “U.S. cut” as it’s called is only 80 minutes long. There was once a German DVD that had the 90-minute cut, but you’ll have a hard time tracking a copy of that down.At the same time, several films in the series are actually 2 - 5 minutes LONGER than they were on the releases in the previous DVD boxed set--certain Blu-rays note that they had to take some scenes from standard definition resources to make the definitive full-length cuts, including Puppet Master II, Curse of the Puppet Master, and The Legacy. So if they could do that for those films, why not for Puppet Master 1 and Retro? Why wouldn’t Full Moon make their complete boxed set of the series COMPLETE?

Great for watching, not for looking.
Movies are fine but the box set is all beat up

Looks like the case was spiked before being packed.
Shipping was fast but it looks like the set was dropped or smashed before being packed. A bit of a bummer that the display case was damaged and ripped in spots, especially for the amount of money spent.

Let Down
Full Moon advertises this set as remastered, but on the first film you can see all the big, black cue dots in the upper right-hand corner. Also, it has no subtitles, even though there is a scene where the actors are speaking German. Very disappointing.
