Pictures of bad quality when I received this and final product- fantastic!
I am very disappointed with the quality of the product. There was no evidence of external damage to the shipping boxes but there was damage to the product including; dented and warped metal edges, broken corner welds on the pans and a hole in one of the flat metal sheets. Also, the wood parts like the legs and frame are raw wood. I will seal it with some marine varnish so it doesn't soak up rain or the water I will use to clean it. I am waiting for a response from the provider. They should be ashamed, especially the inspector that put his sticker on the product to say it meets the quality standards. No love for this product at this point.Follow up. Contacted the supplier. Matt the President addressed the problem directly. Had replacement parts within a few days. Marked improvement in the quality of the replacement parts. Looking forward to the roast. 5 Stars for addressing the problem. So, 1 for quality on arrival, 5 for service after the sale. Averaged out to a 3.Performance- Spectacular! This product delivered right on the money! I did a 60 pound dressed pig and it was at 187 within 4hrs 15 minutes. See the finished product pictured. Guests were amazed about how the meat tasted and asked a lot of questions about the difficulty of making it. I wanted to tell them how hard it was to do but couldn't in clear conscience. It was easy. Viva La Bene Casa Caja Asadora!

GREAT PIG ROAST
We thoroughly enjoyed this to roast a pig for our family 4th of July gathering. Roasted and cooked evenly and meat was really good!

Amazing!
I had my doubts ordering this because of a LOT of negative reviews. But am glad I did end up buying this as this has got to be one of the best pig roasts I’ve done all by myself.Pros:• clean up will NOT be an issue• easy to use / just read the instructions• easy to set up• product comes out perfect if I follow the suggested rules• mine wasn’t cheaply made and should last a long timeCons:• the charcoal grate broke/came loose towards the end while shaking off the excess ash

Good for entertaining.
Easy to put together (if I can do it anyone can) with easy to follow instructions, for the most part. This takes up a lot of room, so unless you're going to deep pit a lot, or have lots of room at your house, this may not be the way to go. It sits low, so remember that if you have trouble bending down to pick up heavier objects. We roasted a small, thin pig and it only took a couple of hours. Obviously the fatter the pig the longer it should take.If you're going to have a lot of people over this is a good way to prepare a lot of protein.

Easy way to roast your pig
A really good way to roast a whole pig. The charcoal rack broke during our first use. Customer service sent a new part promptly. We cooked an 84 lb. pig in it. I know they indicate that it only takes 4-5 hours to cook the whole hog, but we found the hams/shoulders need more time to be pulled apart easily. Which is fine. A few more hours is not a big deal given the fact that all you have to do is put the pig in the box and throw some charcoal on top every hour. No flare-ups. No need to constantly monitor temperature. Easy clean up (line the box with foil).

the box delivered
La caja arrived on time as promised and in two boxes. It took about an hour to assemble. I was surprised that the product is made in china, but these days what is not made there. The product itself seems to be made with enough quality to last a few years, provided you take good care of it.We used La Caja this past weekend and I was concerned as my pig was above the max recommended weight. 85 lbs of pig made it into the box, I used MOJO to marinate the pig.Due to the size of the animal, I was afraid to blast it with heat as recommended in the cooking instructions. Instead I applied slightly less charcoal during the first phase of the cooking process. It took longer, but it assured me that the pig reached the desired internal temperature without overcooking in the outside, it took me 10 to 11 hours to cook the pig. It came time to flip the pig and we blasted the fire.. 30 minutes later, we had a golden looking animal with a delicious and crispy skin..The cleaning process was a breeze.. while cleaning it I noticed that the charcoal tray needs reinforcement where the handles go, in mine I noticed that the weight of the charcoal and the heat allowed for the hole where the handles go to deform slightly.. remember this is metal it should be strong enough to hold the weigh and heat w/o any damage. It is in good working order, but I know in 2 or 3 more uses it may give in to the heat and charcoal weight. I will get something to reinforce the charcoal tray handle holes.Other than the issue I described above, I'm happy with the box: It cooked me a delicious PIG, it surely deserves 4 out of 5.

We did a practice pig the week before 4th of July just to make sure it was as easy to cook as we thought it would be
My son had wanted to do a pig roast for a couple years and we finally agreed to it. I started doing research and found that we could rent one for a week for about the same price that we could buy the Casa Caja for. It arrived in two days and I put it together in less than an hour. We did a practice pig the week before 4th of July just to make sure it was as easy to cook as we thought it would be. It was so easy! The practice pig was 64 pounds and the second pig was 62 pounds. They both fit in the box (not sure I would go much bigger than 65 pounds unless you cut the legs off) The pork was excellent! We will be doing this again in the near future.
