Onthelevel French Troops Parachute Bag for Nylon Elastic Belt Watchband 18mm 20mm 22mm Watch Strap

Good "French paratrooper" type watch strap for the money.
I have one of the expensive ones from that lady in Spain and if you don't want to pay $70 for a fabric strap (her straps are very good and Omega and Tudor charge $100's for their NATO straps) it is a good alternative that has the same functionality but is made of much cheaper materials. The adjusting buckle seems to be made to fit straps of various sizes so is a little big on my 18" strap. This strap only comes in one length, the expensive ones vary in length to better fit different wrist sizes.

Un petit bizzare
My first strap of this type...being a collector of mechanical watches, I thought I'd pretty much run the gamut, but no...so with a new watch, I thought I'd try it for color and comfort. Replaces a silicone diver type.A short learning curve, but still unsure of ultimate security...but if good enough for parachuting, well...we'll see. I like a loose band, not an elastic ace bandage, but it adjusts to that. Far less complicated than, say, the Moldovan leather 1930's German military style band that never stops winding around your wrist, and requires frequent tightening, for sure! All in all, pleasing to look at. Why people buy a watch then complain about the courtesy cheap band shipped with the watch is beyond me....so easy to personalize and really spiff up any watch.I'm happy.

Affordable Erika’s Alternative
When Erika’s was sold out I started looking elsewhere and found this. I really wanted a green strap with the red stripe. This fits the bill and is way cheaper. The Shade of green is exactly what I was expecting based on the image. It looks pretty great on my Aquatico Bronze Sea Star.I’m almost gave it 4 instead of 5 because I had trouble keeping the slider in the same place as I was putting the watch on. As my first parachute strap I don’t know if this is normal. The other thing was how long the strap is. As others have noted, it is long. I have 6.75” wrist and the buckle/slider ended up in the same place as a NATO strap. Check out the pictures. It doesn’t bug me but I could see it being an issue for other people.

Poor QA and not for small wrists
I was excited to try out one of these MN style straps. However when I opened the packaged and noticed the poor QA on the finish I was deeply disappointed. The old adage is never more true in this instance; you get what you paid for. The colors itself aren't bad and I do like them. However, as some other reviewers have said, this is not for smaller wrists unless you plan on cutting these to length. You can search the web on how to do so. It comes with spring bars and a watch tool but it's just a flat metal bar and I don't think it'll assist in helping you install it.

Nice strap with a big flaw
I love these types of straps and have had an Erica’s Original. This is a decent copy, but has one fatal flaw. The actual nylon webbing material is fairly good for the price. It’s stretchy, looks godd, has no fraying, and is comfortable. Not quite as thick as Erica’s in my memory, but close enough. It dries fast and doesn’t let the watch head bounce around. The big problem with this band is the buckle. The hook part works just fine, but the sliding adjustment part of the buckle doesn’t provide enough tension on strap to keep it from coming loose. I am constantly having to crank it down and re-tighten it, which is a problem because tension is what keeps this strap buckled.Very dissapointing.

royal blue
Bought this primarily for the color, but the elastic French commando style of strap is very practical too. This one is reasonably well made...there are better out there, but for the price and watch it's going on (Invicta Pro Diver), I like it a lot. Hint....the hook style closure on all these French commando style bands is hard to do one-handed. Set it where you want length to be, then leave it hooked together...slide your hand through the stretchy elastic loop to get it on-wrist.

A good comfortable strap to try
Short from parachuting with it, I think it is a very secure and comfortable watch strap. The construction allows you to retain the strap and watch on your wrist if the buckle, for some reason, fails. Once you get the hang of hooking the ends together, you forget the watch is on your wrist. After buying one, I purchased several more for different types of watches I own, so I have tried this on some digital and analog watches with no issue. I recommend to try this type of strap out on one of your watches.

If you love NATO then give this strap a shot.
These straps are great. I love them a lot more than my NATO straps. I like the hug your wrist with out squeezing it to tight. Easy to adjust and very comfortable. If you like NATO's then you have to give these a try.
