Great Replacement, BUT You Must Transfer the Passive Transponder from the Key Section as Well.
This was a perfect replacement to my worn out fob, which had broken off rubber where the buttons should be. The new buttons are a tougher rubber more consistent with newer GM fob's. Hopefully that means it'll last longer than the old soft rubber ones I'm replacing. IMPORTANT NOTE: Inside the key section (A Section) (See Owners Manual) of your original fob is a Passive Transponder (See Picture). This transponder needs to be carefully transferred over to the new fob. To open that section you must undo the screw in the Pontiac symbol hole (this is very apparent on your new fob, since the sticker isn't applied yet), and just requires popping the symbol sticker off the old one. You will see the rectangle transponder inside to one side. Mine didn't want to come out willingly and I was forced to carefully cut around it with a dremel tool. I didn't want to damage it by prying with a screw driver or other sharp object. Once you un-lodge the passive chip, simply insert it into the new fob in the appropriate space, and while you are at it, save some money on cutting a new key and transfer the key part of your old fob over as well, works perfectly. Make sure to properly load the spring when inserting the key section so that it will pop out when pressing the button. If you have about 15-30 minutes of patience this replacement works wonderfully. If you fail to move that transponder over to the new fob, your car will enter Engine Immobilizer Operation, and won't start. Needless to say this happened to me, until I discovered the passive chip. Also if the A section (Key section) of the fob is still in good condition, you can always just keep that part and click it into the new B section (Buttons) once you transfer the remote insides over. My entire fob was in pretty rough shape so it was worth the time to replace the entire shell.

Great quality product which requires a little skill and patience to assemble (and a transponder)
Product quality is very high matching OEM standards. The pieces snap together well with a solid feel and don't wiggle around. The included decal is also high quality and appears to have a strong adhesive. I didn't use the included key blank, but instead transferred the key from my original unit and all the moving parts fit perfectly including the spring and rotating/locking mechanism. My main complaint is the small screw holding the unit together was too tight and started to strip easily - I had to try three different sized screwdrivers to get it out very gingerly. My only other complaint, like others have said, is the buttons are more like plastic than the OEM rubber. I had replaced my originals not that long ago, so I just reused that portion of the key and it snapped together fine. Overall, you can't beat this product for the price, provided you are willing to put in a little effort and time disassembling your old key to Dremel out the transponder and transfer the key if you want to.

No emblem sticker
My only complaint is it doesn’t come with a pontiac emblem sticker or the Aussie version. Other than that it Works great, i dont have a transponder chip so i just transfered the big motherboard looking chip and it worked like a charm, just need to cut it.

Great Replacement Fob Case. No Complaints
This replacement shell for my G8 keep fob was exactly what I needed. I decided to go with the folding shell because my original folding key would no longer lock in place (in addition to the lock an unlock buttons disintegrating). I was able to disassemble the new shell and replace the blank key with the original key. Many other reviews talk about the buttons for the trunk and remote start being too hard to push, and I'll admit that the buttons are much tougher than the original but I've had no problems pushing them. If you have trouble with squeezing things like snaps on shirts, pants, or anything for a baby/toddler then you might have a hard time with the buttons on this replacement case. I also saw that a few people had to cut the tiny chip/sensor out of their original key case because it's hard to remove. I just transferred that whole piece to the new shell so that I didn't have to try to remove it. Now its like I have a brand new folding key!

Great Product
Good fit. Transfered the Key and the Chip to the new shell and the car started right up. My older transmiter was a good shape so installed, once that one wears out, will change the shell for the newer one. Going to buy 2 more as spares, is well worth the price. Looks like and feels like the older one.

I'm not really sure how to rate this!?
Well lets see? The key is like a combination of the folding key and the valet key. I just ripped my old key apart and used the top "key" part with the chip in it with the new key. When i tried to use entirely the new key the key button did not stick out far enough to be able to press it. I guess I got a new key, but i did not get a new key and my old key. I suppose that works cause now i have nothing to have cut and no headache from trying to get out the chip. I also got the Pontiac symbol migrated by pushing through the hole. Came out easy and went in no problem. The old key section does not line up perfectly with the new body but it is very close, like 9/10. It's funny how when i tried to build the other half with my old key it wasn't even close to lining up. I guess i got a new working key fob that works and looks 9.5/10 but i didn't get what i was expecting, because now i have an uncut key that will never fit nor work.
