Worth every penny--much more than just a practice amp
Update: This amp saved the day and is the one I use at church now. At the beginning of this year my regular amp (Phil Jones Briefcase) had a power supply fault and spent several months at Phil Jones being repaired. I cautiously took my baby PJB Double Four amp to the church to see if it could fill in for the short term--wow, it sounds so good that it's all I play on at church. I set it in a corner and it performs well--ten songs each service. After I'm done, I put it in its case and carry it out along with my other gear.Other bassists are amazed that my amp weighs less than my p-bass.I originally bought a used Roland Micro Cube bass amp but was disappointed with its sound and found that all of its bells and whistles were just unnecessary clutter. Then I found this amplifier. You can't go wrong with Phil Jones Bass--I also have a Bass Briefcase and I love it.This thing is tiny, smaller than a toaster oven. And here's the best part: It weighs less than my bass guitar. The sound fills a room with rich booming bass, like no practice amp can. There's a YouTube video of a guy comparing this one with several amps side by side, including the Roland Micro Cube--the Phil Jones amp sound was far superior to all of the competition. If you want drums to practice to, get a good drum kit app and plug your phone into the 3.5mm aux input jack with the handy cord provided. There is a separate volume control for that input. If you want to use your iPhone for that, check into one of the long lightning-to-3.5mm jack cables that are available that folks use to plug their phone audio into their cars.

Amazing performance
Amazing bass response with no speaker distortion. I have had many other small bass amplifiers which did not live up to expectations, and I was skeptical. This one is beyond expectations.

Overall, a pretty nice little bass amp
I got this to have a decent-sounding bass amp to use around the house that would be more portable than a Fender Rumble. This pretty much fits the bill. It's expensive, and how good it wounds is highly dependent on where it's positioned. The rear radiator throws out a lot of sound. Having it close to a wall or ohter acoustically reflective surface makes a big difference. in the midedle of a large room, this won't put out a very powerful sound. But put it close to a wall, and it's very solid as a practice amp or for performance in a small venue. Seems very well made and its a very manageable weight and size. Did I mention that it's expensive?

It's a very nice amp
I've had the thing out of the box for about 15 minutes. I plugged a P-bass into it and turned the bass knob on the amp almost all of the way up. The P-bass sounds very nice through the PJB. It doesn't have the deep rich tones one would need to player for dancers in a large venue but it's loud enough for normal restaurant gigs.I recommend the amp for those that never want to carry more weight than they need to.

So much high mids.
After reading all the reviews I was expecting something transparent, quality speakers like how it's advertised. It turns out to be really weird sounding amp with frequency response all over the place.750hz to almost 5khz is pronounced STRONG and compressed HARD. Lows around 40-70hz is real tight and surprisingly well produced for it's size. though it's hard to hear because of loud mids.Low mids are there and feels uncompressed, but then again it gets overpowered by the high mids.Every review says it sounds good, so maybe I received one with defected preamp? Idk.but what I received sounded like as if i added over powering parallel comp with band pass filter.

Great sound that is a breeze to move
Not quite as deep as Youtube demos suggest... but it is noiseless, deep sounding for the size, and at 8lbs you'll definitely save your back. I love hauling onto the deck to play on nice days with out having to lug a 60lb amp out there. Setting it up to run off of a battery does require some items that do not ship with the produce, specifically a cord that would run from USB to the laptop-like power tip of the included power supply.

Great sound and extremely portable
This little amp is everything you need in a portable, great sounding bass amp. It litlerly fits in my backback for practice.
