DEWALT 20V MAX* XR Leaf Blower, 125-MPH, 450-CFM (DCBL722P1)

Did a lot of research on battery powered blowers. Finally decided on DeWalt primarily due to the fact I have a lot of DeWalt battery powered tools and for my feeling that DeWalt generally has high quality equipment and stands behind their products. I’m very pleased with this unit. I have a gas powered Stihl blower that I use a lot for blowing sand/dirt/leaves/etc. off driveway. Wanted this DeWalt primarily for blowing out shop area after grinding metal/sawing wood/sanding/etc. It easily handles that task and I now find I use it for most all my needs except for the heaviest materials like piles of dirt or gravel. The nozzle is a bit larger opening, but it has great force, is light weight, easy to use and the battery life is great. I have used all sizes of battery below the 5.0 Ah. They all work well, just don’t last as long. Even the smallest battery allows me plenty of charge to blow out the shop floor (38’x38’). The straight thru flow of air from rear to front makes a lot of sense and is said to cut down on some of the moving parts required in other blowers that wear out/break/etc. This product exceeded my expectations. It does cost more than many “similar” type units, but you definitely get what you pay for...in my opinion it is a very good value, especially if you alread have DeWalt batteries.

If you are considering a leaf blower, I highly recommend this model. It is powerful and simple to use. It has great battery life, as do all my DeWalt cordless tools. Buy an extra battery and you can get a tremendous amount of work done with this tool. I love it!

Design and Usability: The blower is lightweight and easy to handle, making it a good choice for those who find gas blowers too heavy or cumbersome. Its ergonomic design allows for comfortable use over extended periods, suitable even for individuals with physical limitations like arthritis. Noise Level: It operates quieter compared to gas blowers, which is great for maintaining a peaceful neighborhood environment. Customer Service: My experience with DEWALT's customer service has been positive, especially noting an instance where a faulty blower was replaced promptly. Additional Features: The variable speed trigger enhances control over the blowing power. The cordless design is convenient, eliminating the need for extension cords or handling gas. Compatibility with Other Tools: The compatibility of its batteries with other DEWALT tools is a significant advantage. Durability: The blower is generally durable, though there have been rare instances of malfunction. Overall Satisfaction: I am highly satisfied with the blower and would recommend it for residential use. However, for heavy-duty tasks like large-scale leaf cleanup, it might not be the best fit. Miscellaneous: One downside is the lack of leaf mulching capability. It's also useful for blowing off vehicles and small outdoor spaces. The cost of additional batteries can be a concern.

Uses a lot of battery very fast but works great otherwise

This DeWalt battery-powered blower is seriously impressive. Tons of power, lightweight, and so easy to grab for quick clean-ups. It’s quickly become my go-to tool for the yard. I even bought a second one as a gift for my dad, who used to swear by his gas blower. He didn’t think an electric could match the power — but after using this, he actually got rid of his gas blower entirely. If you want the power of gas without the hassle, this blower is the way to go.

This is my first battery-operated leaf blower, after having used a gas-powered blower for years. Right off the bat, I noticed this doesn't blow nearly as fast/hard as the gas-powered blower I had. However, its wider tube and slower speed allows it to blow more leaves at once. And even better, the leaves move in the direction you're blowing them, whereas with my old gas powered blower, they would flip back around and come back to me like boomerangs. Startup is immediate and the blower is pretty comfortable and light. And of course the no-maintenance aspect of it, compared to a gas blower needing to mix oil and gas, getting it on your hands when you try to pour it or it develops a leak, etc., is wonderful. In terms of down sides, the battery life is pretty unfortunate. I get about 15 minutes at full power out of this. Still with dry leaves, it is really good at pushing a lot of them at a time. Wet leaves are a bit more of a challenge for this, but that is a tradeoff with more area coverage from the wider tube. The back side of it often also gets little leaves stuck against the grate from getting sucked in, so you have to pause every few minutes and let go of the throttle so you can brush them off. Overall though, I will not be going back to gas-powered ever again. Would love to see a bigger battery in this (it is plenty light with the one it has), or a second battery, to allow for accomplishing a bit more without having to shift to do something else while it recharges. This is a really great blower though, so I am happy to spend 15 minutes with it, recharge while I do some other chores, and then go back to it.

High quality as always. Easy to operate. My wife loves it because she doesn't have to deal with the gas and oil and trying to get it to start.

I love this blower. I use it 12 months of the year. It has the power to clean off the patio of dust, leaves and even light snow. Cordless convenience can't be beat. It has the power to clean up the lawn and sidewalks. The only drawback is no vacuum capability. I've also used it to stoke the fire in the backyard firepit.

It just works …very well….a tad noisy.. Highly recommend

Just received this today. I was debating between buying this or a corded leaf blower...I'm happy to say that I bought this. Keep in mind that I already own a bunch of 20v Dewalt tools; so buying kit with an additional battery was a huge plus for me. It's so useful that I wish i had gotten one sooner. It took me only 30 seconds to blow out and clean my whole garage! I used to sweep it all out before..those days are gone. One of the main reasons why I bought this was so that I can use it to blow snow off my cars during the winter. As it is not winter yet...I will wait till we get our first snowfall before I get to put it through that test. Pros: -Great amount of power! Especially for being a cordless tool! -Pretty well balanced and lightweight -Adjustable blower speed with the "cruise control" lever so that you don't have to depress the trigger all the time -Having no cords to deal with or a gas engine to maintain, and fill up, etc is a huge plus. You will find yourself just picking it up and using it more because of this. Cons: -Ergonomics wise..someone did mention about the trigger being in a weird/unnatural position if you were to hold down the trigger while using this blower. I did notice that myself but if you have it on "cruise control" then you can hold it at a more comfortable position. -Since this is cordless, it will obviously not have as much power as a electric corded or gas powered blower. -It would've been really useful if they included a couple of nozzle attachments to this. Unfortunately, this blower comes with zero nozzle options. The end nozzle is about 3.5" in diameter in case anyone is wondering. It is for this reason that I gave it 4/5 stars. Since it comes with no nozzles, I am working on creating one to hopefully increase the velocity a little more..I will post pictures once it is complete.
