Blade was dull, I mean dull. Would not shave even after a healthy amount of stropping. The wooden box was broken. Soap seal was already broken and spilling in the box. I am not sure I could cut a tomato with this blade. Quality control should be a little better.I stropped the blade a good 100 laps and still it does not pass the hair test on forearm or single hair. This is not my first straight razor, I bought this to teach my son the art.I would love to hear from the manufacturer regarding my experience with this blade.

I understand that when you buy a product you’re buying what’s in the box. However the box this razor cane in was a sign for what was inside. The wooden box was warped, as wood does but if handled And milled correctly it can be avoid. This box has more wood putty in it then wood. Anyway on to the razor. Maybe I expect too much but there are a lot of noticeable scratches that were not buffed out. Mostly on the blade. Secondly and more importantly every time I close the blade it catches on one side of the handle. I have to take care when closing the blade so I don’t cause a chip in the blade or dull it before it’s time. I haven’t even shaved with it yet.

My wife has been looking for a decent razor for an affordable price. This kit is both. The feeling is fantastic.

Bought it as a gift for my boyfriend. He says he loves it and the blade is sharp.

Package was damaged. Razor not sharp. Could see it had been mis ground. Very unhappy for the price

The product is touted as "shave-ready" and that is DEFINITELY not the case. I had to thoroughly strop it before it passed the hair test.Moreover, this product seems like it was probably a returned item from somewhere else. The hygiene seals on both the razor and the shaving soap were broken upon arrival, and the razor box has a broken hinge as well. The strop and brush are OK.I wouldn't buy this as a gift for someone because of the broken seals and damaged product.It might be an OK investment as a first razor because it comes with everything (assuming you don't buy new soap because your seal is broken) except hones and the experience of testing, stropping, and possibly having to hone a razor is good for beginners.
