A good reading material for building basic vocabulary and language skills (getting to the low intermediate Level).

A very good course in all its features
A very good course in all its features. If you really want to start from scratch or brush up you basic knowledge of Arabic while going from through the first volume all to the sixth volume, acquiring a good command of the langauge, then Lughatuna al fusha is to be recommended. Lughatuna al Fusha book six is a real advanced level of Arabic. A milestone in both grammar courses and standard ones.

Not appropriate for self study
The topics covered are very interesting and up to date.This book might be used in a classroom, but is less appropriate for self study. The problem is, that there are no solutions to the different tests. That's a pity, there are so many efforts put into it, this would really not have been complicated. I doubt that anyone goes through all the "Lughatuna al-Fusha"-books with teachers or within classroom settings. It would bee a good source for self-study, if just there would also be the possibility for checking if the answers for the exercises were correct. And: The books proposes "Interactive Online Exercises", but the link given simply doens't work. But for reading and listening exerises this book is good.
