The folks at the Gibson Custom Shop in Montana have done a special limited run of 50 left handed J-45 Custom guitars. How do you make a legendary guitar even more special? Vintage appointments with some refined touches: a new floral abalone and mother of pearl headstock inlay, herringbone trim, abalone rosette, scalloped top bracing, hide glue neck joint, abalone split diamond fretboard inlays, firestripe guard, custom bridge inlay, gold Grover tuners and a vintage sunburst nitro finish. Back and sides are a beautiful East Indian rosewood. Really nice figuring on the fretboard, as well. L.R. Baggs Element pickup onboard, and a Custom Shop logo on the headstock and signed certificate of authenticity. That’s a lot of extras for not much more than a J-45 Standard. How does it sound? Terrific. A special guitar.
