WayLight Multi-Functional Camping LED Light and Trekking Pole

This Camping Light Trekking Pole is a life saver! I’m 84 and have a small dog I walk four times a day. I live in Wisconsin. This time of year and all winter it is dark at at 5:30 in the morning and dark at 8:00 at night. At 84 walking in the dark can throw my balance off. I love the security the lighted pole gives me and helps tremendously cleaning up after my beloved dog. Wonderful invention!

Im a sucker for things with a corgi in the ad. Video had a hiker with a corgi so I bought. Using it for nighttime dog walking at local park. More recently used as beach campground torch. Holds charge for hours and stakes nicely into the beach sand using the skewer holder as a quasi anchor. The thing goes from red to green so its super easy to tell when fully charged. My only complaint is that it didn't already come with the strap included. I've added a sweatband around the base where it has the setting button down to the charging port for extra coverage of the charging port against sand at beach and in case i drop it into water while crossing streams. Added a rubber dog poop bag holder where the write strap would go but still hope to add strap down the line. Light is extremely bright. I was able to spot wild horses on the dunes far away on moonless night 300+ feet. Excellent for general light to set up tents at night since you can stake to ground and put it into globe mode and its a good 3 ft level so it doesnt lie on ground like other camping lights which create shadows as folks walk around staking down tents. Used spot light feature to be able to check color of meat cooking on campfire and it was bright enough to easily tell the difference in cooked pork steaks. I suspect I could use it to deter or inspect any agressive/gross animal we encounter from a safe distance like snakes. Will post picture if i can get one that actually demonstrates it in action. Since its used in pitch black seeing a white spot against dark background probably not useful to folks reading this review.

I was very disappointed in this product. I have been interested in SylvanSport since I learned about their little camping tent trailer and Vast travel trailer concept (which is still in pre-order status 3 years later). The concept and idea are great, that's why I bought it. But no, I wasted my money. If you're using the pole to hike in the dark, the natural movement of walking with a stick makes the forward-facing light pointless because of how the light moves whilst walking. Secondly, the dome light on the top of the pole is blinding if you're trying to walk in the dark. Yet somehow it is still dim and does not light a large area. If you want to stick it in the ground and use it as a sort of dim lantern, by all means. Or point the forward-facing light at something you're working on, that's fine also. But you won't be able to see very much with that dome light. Overall, it looks and feels great. Materials are good. Its a good idea but very, very poor in practical applicability.

We bought the WayLight as a fun bring-a-long for camping and just a few trips in, it has become everyone’s favorite light. You don’t blind others like you do with a headlamp and it just feels good to walk around with a hiking stick. The spot light mode is super handy when you need a flashlight and the dome light is great as a lantern. We even tried the marshmallow roasting slots on the bottom and that was a huge hit with the kids. Really happy with the purchase. It’s a great addition to our camping/hiking gear.

My mother wanted a stick to walk around at night around our neighborhood that was lit so she could use a leash with our dog. This product has been great and made a great mother's day present. She uses it every night when she goes walking and now doesn't have to juggle a flashlight!

I bought two of these items (SylvanSport Waylight) last year, one for me and one for my girlfriend. Mine works perfectly, but my girlfriend was reluctant to tell me that hers didn't work correctly. When plugged into a USB, the dome turns red indicating a charge. However, even after disconnecting the USB, the dome stays red and depletes the battery. I don't know the statute of limitations for returns but I am hopeful that someone from SylvanSport can provide some help.

I bought one of these and liked it so well that I bought a second one. The problem is that only one of them will hold a charge. I would like the number of customer service so that I can talk to them.
