Are these STEM kits compatible with the pieces from the basic Hape workbench? I want to expand on that and hoping the holes would line up etc.

Our Junior Inventor Deluxe Experiment kit is compatible with all our other Junior Inventor items but not with our Basic Builder set. The Basic Builder set is compatible with our Master Workbench and Fix It Toolbox.

Is this toy bpa and phthalate free? non toxic water based paints?

All Hape products use water based, non-toxic paint and do not contain BPA or Phthalates.

Are the bolts plastic or metal?

The bolts are made of ABS plastic
