Kryptonite is an industry standard for a reason. These locks are easy to use, and while heavy and a little bulky, give a good feeling of security.The longer shackle model of the lock can be a little bit harder to store on a bike however, especially if you use bottle cages.The mounting system for storage has been upgraded from previous lock models. Previous Kryptonite locks I have used included a plastic clip that was hard to attach and detach from the lock without breaking, not to mention a nightmare to install on the bike. With the new mounting kit, the plastic components are a little bit larger, but much more robust. The release mechanism feels less likely to snap, and the installation of the kit includes the use of a webbed strap and metal buckle (the bike is protected by a rubber insert) that firmly attach to the bike frame. Be cautious, however, that bike frames with non-round frame members can be a little hard to attach to.

Needed security for bicycle at college. So far working as bike has not been stolen. Chose this lock as it is longer and that was needed to get through tire and frame on mountain bike.

With a supplementary 6-foot cable, this is the best lock set you'll ever own. At first it seems weighty, and it is heavier than any lock I've ever had, but once you've used it for a while, it's actually more convenient than other solutions because it's simple to attach and no combination to remember. Thieves won't even think about stealing a bike with this lock set. Well worth the money.

WOW this specific model of kryptonite evolution series 4 LS is amazing. the reason i went with this specific model is first its rated 8/10 for toughness to steal and second the LS version is long shackle. which really helps me with my mountain bike reason being i dont have to take off the front tire the shackle is long enough to fit through my tire frame and bike rack. now this doesnt fit on my bike with the bracket provided with the lock this is due to the fact that the lock slides onto the bracket and if the bracket was placed farther up there isnt enough room in my bike frame. the lock does fit in my frame if i was to bungie cord it or find a different way to secure the lock. i dont mind this at all and was expecting it do to the size of the shackle. i have another kryptonite ulock coming for just the back tire to the frame i would rather carry a extra lock then take my tire off every time plus two locks are better then one. also if kryptonite made it so the silver mounting bracket could slide up and down that would solve the problem of the bike bracket.

I've had this lock about a year and use it on a cargo bike.It seems very solid and the mounting bracket has worked well.The big problem is that it is difficult to get the key to lock or unlock. You really have to fiddle with it and it has gotten worse over time. I'm concerned that I may get stuck somewhere not being able to unlock the bike. So I have now decided to replace this lock with another brand.

La he comprado para la bici, y ya el hecho de que valga para motos lo dice todo. El peso, los materiales y la calidad en general hacen que valga cada céntimo de lo valido. Es un candado muy muy serio con el cual te sentirás seguro al dejar tu bici por la calle. Estoy muy satisfecho con la compra, lo recomiendo sin duda alguna!Viene con tres llaves, una de las cuales con una luz led azul para que puedas abrir el cerrojo en la oscuridad. Buen detalle.Se adapta muy bien a la bici, agarre firme y seguro. Al principio puede parecer que pese mucho pero una vez montado no notas su presencia.

This is great and meets my anti-theft needs! It is not super heavy and fits into my backpack (I like carrying it on me when riding the bike). I use this in combination with the Series 4 regular (not LS) u-lock (which is heavier), and the Kryptonite KryptoFlex 3/8-Inch x 4-Feet 1004 Double Loop Security Cable. It's a lot to carry sometimes, but rather that, than having my bike or parts of it stolen (I live in a city where bike theft is rampant)! Awesome product!

Das Schloss funktioniert gut (Öffnen/Schliessen, Schliessmechanismus) und passt um zwei Rennradrahmen + Hinterrad und einen Schildermast. Wenn man nur ein Rennrad damit abschliesst, kann man durchaus ein kleineres Modell, das Standard z.B., wählen, da sehr viel Platz im Bügel übrig bleibt und hier eventuell ein Wagenheber angesetzt werden kann.Das Schloss klappert auf unebener Fahrbahn, was aber durch je einen dünnen O-Ring pro Seite komplett behoben werden konnte. Weiterhin musste der Halter mit der Feile "entgratet" werden, da das Schloss sonst nur mit relativ hohem Kraftaufwand aus dem Halter entfernt werden konnte. Diese kleinen Modifikationen kann ich aufgrund des fairen Preises verkraften.An dem Schloss gefällt mir gut, dass es (anders als das Mini) auf beiden Seiten einen Verschlussmechanismus hat, was dazu führt, dass es nicht ausreicht den Bügel auf einer Seite zu durchtrennen, weil man diesen dann immer noch nicht aufdrehen kann. Fazit: Ich bin sehr zufrieden und würde das Schloss wieder kaufen.

acheté après avoir lu un comparatif. Cela fait plusieurs années que je l'ai et il est vraiment très solide et endurant. Il n'a pas bougé et je n'ai jamais eu de tentative de vol. bien moins cher que son principal concurrent et de meilleure qualité.
