Dynamic Yoga

Highly recommended for learning yoga routines and practicing at home
Very clear pictures and excellent sense of "dynamic" and "flow" in the poses. It feels natural to go from one pose to another, making the experience of practicing with the book at home really enjoyable. You can start from the beginning of the book, consecutively practicing poses, then enjoy doing the routines, proposed in the back of the book, which have the same order as the pose sequences in the main text. Thus, when you get to the routines, you already know which pose comes after the other and have learnt the routines by heart. My only objection is that there is not much information on each pose engages which muscle. Such information would help the reader to focus better on the area of interest.

Yoga
Great book that focuses on transitions. I had the pleasure of practicing with Kia during a recent visit to UC Davis. She's just as clear in person as in her book.Jim

Great Yoga Poses
Great book, very helpful in helping me learn yoga poses. I have used it to help me teach yoga to seniors in Florida.

A Good One
This is a great book if you are new to yoga and want to try a physically demanding routine. I've been living yoga for about 2 months now (I know it's just too little time) and this one really satisfied my need and curiosity on a more challenging yoga session. There are 3 secquences in here (30 minutes, 60 minutes & 90 minutes long) so you can adjust them to your timetable. The pics are very useful and show precisely what the posture should look like and includes step-by-step instructions on getting in and out of the posture. There are lots of useful tips on using props and varying the depth of the posture depending on your level. Let's point that this is not Ashtanga/Vinyasa Yoga (which is a bit more demanding but also less flexible on the length of the sequences and the postures you must include) but can actually be used as an introduction to more powerful types of yoga so you can later on try Ashtanga/Vinyasa.

great for starters and those unsure doing it at home
So useful, I borrowed it from the library as a beginner, then my sister came around - she's been doing it for a lot longer and loves this book (bought her one for her xmas present) we both find the clear instructions and the overview at the beginning very useful

Dynamic book on Power Yoga.
The exercises have been beautifully demonstrated with the help of sequences of photographs. I have lot of books on power yoga but this one has the maximum clarity on the progression of sequences.
