Perfect replacement for whirlpool fridge cooling better than before

I don't usually write reviews but with the quality of vendors declining on Amazon I think it is important to mention a vendor that is both knowledgeable and helpful. DR Quality Products was a very pleasant surprise. Buying appliance parts can be confusing particularly for older appliances when the maker is out of business and the OEM part is not available. I bought this part more than once because the first vendor on Amazon sold the wrong part. Unlike many vendors you can talk to real person at DR Quality Products. I reached Daniel who not only confirmed the correct part but was available when the part arrived to answer questions about installing it. The replacement part is well made and the price was as low as any vendor I found. I gladly give DR Quality Products five stars. You will note, however, that I rated ease of installation at three stars. This is because I replaced an evaporator fan motor that required removing the back panel of the freezer compartment of a Maytag top mount refrigerator. The replacement motor fit perfectly but the plastic fan blade was stuck on the shaft of the old motor. Daniel was available to discuss even that detail. We talked about using a hair dryer to heat the plastic blade and that freed the blade perfectly. This repair would have been much more difficult without Daniel and DR Quality Products.

Started out fine but it could be the refrigerator not the part... I would feel guilty to give this a lower review because it could be something else that fault in the refrigerator. Perfect for the part that we needed and it started out well and then it deteriorated from there week three and it's loud it's noisy and I'm waiting for it to fail.I was going to throw out the refrigerator (recycle) at first but then gave this part a second chance. When we're done renovating the home we're going to get rid of the refrigerator and hopefully this part will help it to cool until then right now it's still working but it's loud. It also seems that the fridge cycles through cooling more often but I don't know... Right now all I care is to get the work done and get up as I get rid of the fridge amen.

My freezer was taking forever to freeze ice-cubes and such and my frig(because it obviously uses the cold air from the freezer) was not as cold as it should be as well.I first replaced the frig capacitor motor and relay (the one that attaches to the compressor down there) but that didn't fix the problem.I read online that it could be my evaporator fan(the motor) but how could it be that..it's still working..it's spinning..I can see it thru the plastic covering..it's spinning on low...but still working. BIG MISTAKEHow was I to know that it could spin and still be "broken". It's somehow not going at the higher speeds when the sensors tell it to. So I thought, ok, I'll give it a try..it's only $20 bucks...and I've already replaced the other stuff and that didn't work.I replaced my CONDENSER FAN MOTOR AND NOW IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM!UPDATE: 5 months later it died too. ..actually, it didn't DIE DIE completely. It was doing the same thing the one before this one did. It still spins slowly..but no faster..sometimes it stops completely..then back to only slow. This time I went with another seller and another brand. New one doesn't make noise like the old one either. This new one is doing great..at least so far. Fridge started getting warm. Took it apart while trying to salvage as much food as possible. Saw that the fan was barely spinning, but everything else seemed to work (freezer was cold).Found the part number, popped it on Amazon and picked the one that shipped Same/Next day. 18 hours, it arrived (most of the food gone bad already, but not the fault of this fan, lol) - about 8 minutes to install (not my first rodeo - I replaced this part a year or two ago). Fan is blowing and things are working again it seems.Not sure about longevity. People's review suggest a limited lifespan- likely true. Build quality looked shody, but it works for now.For an emergency, I'd say go for it. I might order an OEM fan and just keep it as a backup.
