Edu-Toys Chem 60 Chemistry Set

This science set was purchased for our 9 year old granddaughter. I opened the package and made a list of items to collect so she would have on hand to start her science journey. I was amazed by all the experiments she will be able to do with this set. There are a lot of things included with the the kit and great instructions; everything seems to have "plastic" quality and will stand up over time. I did a lot of research before purchasing and this kit seemed to be the best. I was right. Now I can't wait for her to open the bag of grocery items and the science kit to get started.

Was too advanced for my grandson

The kit had very few chemicals as others have mentioned. Given that most of the experiments required item that the average household doesn’t necessarily have (we may be the only one on our block without tincture of iodine). The one thing we could try was checking pH...except that the included ‘pH’ paper didn’t work!!! Tried everything from toothpaste to lemon juice to water....nothing. Tried hot sauce, and it turned the paper the color of....wait for it .... hot sauce. The equipment is of the cheapest quality possible.

Didn't think it was worth the money. Go online and get some ideas for kids and use regular household items.

My 11 year old Grandson loved it, bagan playing with it right away, He thought it was awesome! Everyone watched as He did 2 of the experiments!

As my 10 year old son is interested in science and I was unwilling to purchase an expensive chemistry set for what may be a passing interest, I bought this set as an "experiment" of his chemistry interest. Though not much of this kit is actually specific to chemistry, per se.... there are 60 science activities that are very kid-friendly with a nice color book that gives easy to follow steps (with pictures) without too much wordy discussion. For example, tonight my son made rose perfume for me in 15 minutes! I like this kit because it isn't too messy, he can do the experiments without a lot of adult supervision, and he feels autonomous since he doesn't have to rely on adults to do everything. The materials look pretty solid (glass for the test tubes, plastic for other items). In all, for a first kit, it is a pretty good deal!
