Works for Connecting to DAC
I got this to connect my iPhone 11 to Cambridge Dacmagic 100. Works great. Excellent build quality (Apple). I saw many cheaper knock-offs but didn't want to take the chance.

Works as advertised!
Before you make this purchase, keep in mind this it was designed and advertised to connect to a CAMERA. If you’re buying this to connect to an unpowered device like a thumb drive or card reader, it WON’T WORK. The lightning port was never really designed to provide the 5 volts most USB devices require. The device you’re adapting to must have its own power source (like a camera has batteries). I’m using it for my J-Lab USB microphone for YouTube using a powered USB hub to provide power to the microphone and it works like a champ! I got both this and a hub for less than $40. Worth it considering what I paid for the microphone.

Seamless Instant Easy to Use with Nikon DSLR
Worked perfectly right out of the box. Needed to download photos off my old Nikon D70 to iPad Air 2 instead of to my Macbook. Plugged adapter into iPad and other end accepts Nikon USB camera cable. Open Photos app, Choose "Device" in side menu and voila, there are all the photos currently on the camera. Download speed super fast for largest size JPEGs. Happy! Apple adapter is a little pricey, but I say just go with it instead of risking some other brand that may or may not work.

So glad I found this!
I purchased this before a recent trip to Europe so that I would be able to copy or move photos off of my older camera onto my iPad Mini 2. It worked flawlessly and I was then able to post and email pictures from the iPad while I was there instead of waiting until I returned home. It also allowed me to back up my pictures daily in case something happened to my camera or SD card. I debated between getting this, getting a non-OEM card reader only for the iPad, and getting and setting up a card reader for my Android phone. I think this was the easiest and simplest solution and it adds other functionality besides just reading SD cards to my iPad (although I haven't used it for anything else yet). I understand that there may issues with longer file names (and maybe with other devices), but I had no problems at all with my camera. My only reason for docking a star is the price. As with most things Apple, they charge a premium. But I'm really glad I had it with me.

The hidden gem of Apple accessories
Kids, this is the real deal. People make fun of Apple and their overpriced dongles, but this thing is magic. No really, I can't think of another tiny piece of hardware that has so drastically expanded what I can do with a single port. This dongle hides behind the name "Camera Adapter", as if it were a mere tool for camera enthusiasts. I don't care about cameras at all, I've used this to:- Attach a USB keyboard for use with my iPad Pro- Connect a Blue Yeti USB Microphone to my iPad and record vocals- Attach a USB MIDI Controller which then seamlessly hooks into Garageband's Synth instruments- Connect to a USB-to-Ethernet hub and download stuff to my iPhone/iPad over Ethernet- Oh, by the way, that hub I mentioned has 3 USB ports on it, I can connect stuff to **all three of them** and download over Ethernet at the same time.- And yeah, maybe I'll try it out with a camera someday when I'm done rocking out with all these other peripherals... I wonder if I could plug in an Electric-Guitar-to-USB adapter...Anyway, this thing is insane. You might have an awesome iPad, but until you get this, you're not using it right.Accept no substitutes.

This connector is a joy....
After returning the grey-not-white Omar lightning keyboard, and a used Macally white-but-not-working keyboard (ebay), I decided to see whether I could use one of my white/aluminum-silver mechanical keyboards with my iPad via this connector. It works! And it is awesome to type in full-size-keyboard heaven on mechanical keys (E-Element z-77 from Amazon) to take notes in OneNote, write email, fast-enter into Omnifocus, etc. with complete kinetic comfort!Even better, I have also tested it on iPhone 5s and iPhone 8 Plus - success! It also hooks into an older rubber dome usb keyboard and does fine with all three devices as well. The only issue - and I think this is true across the board - is that when the devices' battery life drops into the 60% range, they are apt to turn off the keyboard for drawing too much power. I found that if I unplugged and replugged it in, and typed more slowly, I could continue using it into the 50% range at least. I haven't pushed it further, usually I finished what I was doing and didn't need to go further (courtesy of faster data entry with a keyboard and touch typing skills).I will be trying a powered hub situation next, and a splitter. For people who need to use electronics, but want a little less EMF/less Bluetooth, having a way to enjoy the functionality of portable iOS devices with some buffer distance, this adaptor plus a keyboard is really nice.

Does not work with PCs like it says in the description
The product page says, "When you sync iPad or iPhone to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad or iPhone are added to your computer's photo library" however as far as I can tell, this isn't true. It has to be plugged into a lightning port, which my PC doesn't have (I don't know how many PCs do have one). The product page also doesn't say you need a separate cable to insert into this cable. And even tho in the FREE RETURNS section, it says: Return this item for free. Free returns are available for the shipping address you chose. You can return the item for any reason in new and unused condition: no shipping charges," Amazon doesn't honor that - they say they only allow 15 days return window for Apple products (and I was one day late). Once I click on "Add to Cart" I don't look further down the page.
